Let me introduce Doasis, a large-format café in Yangju with a palm-garden concept you can enjoy in the middle of the city.

Today I want to introduce a pretty unique large bakery café in Yangju. Doasis is a big botanical-garden café where you can enjoy about 50 different kinds of bakery items baked fresh daily, brunch, and a space packed with palm trees. Filling a space of about 2,000 pyeong with plants and resort-like interiors, it's a large Yangju café where you can properly enjoy rest and tea time.

Doasis has honestly next-level parking. There's a huge lot right in front of the building, so it's easy to come by car. If you're taking the subway, it's about a 10-minute walk from Deokjeong Station.

## Inside the palm garden: what the Doasis space looks like

This is the inside of Doasis. Right from the size alone, nothing about the place feels cramped. High ceilings, bright natural light, and lush green palm trees sitting right in the center! By the way, those palms are said to be around 300 real palm trees brought straight from Jeju Island.

Did you know palm trees also help purify the air? It's a genuinely refreshing large Yangju café that's easy on both your eyes and your heart. The table layouts are varied too, so you can enjoy tea time in different ways depending on group size and taste. Apparently Doasis used to be a bathhouse building, so it has a structure and atmosphere quite different from other large cafés.

There are baby chairs and a dedicated nursing room too, so it's a great large Yangju café for a family outing with kids.

Being able to enjoy palm trees this close up and this lush, without having to plan a whole trip abroad to see them, is amazing! It's a really nice Yangju bakery café for a family outing or for time to yourself.

## About 50 kinds of bread and brunch, baked fresh daily

At Doasis you can enjoy well over 50 different kinds of bread and desserts. There were so many breads I wanted to try that picking just one felt like a real shame. But! Since this large Yangju café is so popular, if you want to catch a wider selection, I'd recommend visiting early. I went a little after 2pm, and a few of the most popular breads were already sold out! Next time I plan to be more diligent and visit Doasis earlier in the day.

The staff were also super friendly! They personally picked out the most popular breads for us and explained each one, so even though it was our first visit, we got to eat our way through plenty of delicious bread. Doasis also has brunch options like pizza, pasta, and salad. It's a large Yangju café where you can handle brunch, a full meal, and tea time all in one place.

A cold cappuccino for me and a warm pear-bellflower quince tea for my husband. Apparently Doasis uses high-quality coffee beans. The clean, nutty flavor and the smoothness of the rich milk foam went together really well.

We went for a somewhat sweet lineup of breads for tea time today. The coffee flavor was so clean that it paired well with the dessert breads too. I also took a sip of my husband's pear-bellflower quince tea — the rich pear scent layered with the fragrance of quince was totally charming. It was a pretty hot day, so I worried it might feel too heavy, but it actually felt warm and soothing on the throat, which I really loved.

### Garlic baguette

This garlic bread had a strong, charming garlic aroma. You really just have to try the garlic bread — that slightly sweet yet fragrant garlic smell that Koreans love so much is genuinely irresistible.

### Pandoro

If you want something sweet, I recommend the pandoro. It's a moist, sweet dessert with a texture similar to a donut, packed full of fresh cream inside. Paired with an americano, this is the kind of dessert where it's basically one pandoro per person.

### Cheese nurungji (crispy scorched-rice) bread

The cheese nurungji lets you really enjoy the flavor of cheese. Looking at it, I thought it might just be a sweet cheesecake — but it's a completely different flavor. Living up to the name nurungji (scorched rice), the outside has the cheese lightly toasted. Inside, it's incredibly moist with savory, nutty cheese throughout. It's a menu item where you enjoy the savoriness of the cheese itself more than sweetness.

### Blueberry brioche

Soft brioche topped with a generous layer of sweet blueberry jam! A dessert where you can enjoy both the soft texture and the tangy freshness of the blueberries. It pairs well with an americano, but surprisingly it also went really well with a cappuccino.

### Green tea injeolmi (rice cake) bread

If you're going with your parents, the green tea injeolmi bread is my number one recommendation without question. Inside the savory injeolmi (sweet rice cake) powder is cream, rice cake, and soft bread all packed together, and it just melts the moment you take a bite. The cream and bread melt smoothly, and right at the end you get a slightly chewy bite of rice cake — how could anyone resist that sweetness! The size was generous too, making it great for a family to share.

## Is Doasis in Yangju worth the trip?

- A large café with a rare, unique palm-garden concept you don't often see elsewhere.
- A pretty café that pleases both the eyes and the mouth.
- With great parking and amenities, it's a good spot for a family outing.
- The bakery and brunch selection is so varied that this large Yangju café wouldn't get old even after multiple visits.
