A last-minute plan came up near Sindorim Station, so I searched for a hearty, delicious Korean restaurant and ended up at Sindorim Sambaekga. They sell a range of Korean dishes, from bossam (boiled pork wraps) and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) to jokbal (braised pig’s trotters), but after much deliberation, we ordered the bossam and makguksu set. I already love bossam, so I came in with high expectations—and everything from the side dishes to the mains was satisfying enough that I wanted to share it with anyone looking for good food in Sindorim.

## Sindorim Sambaekga location and parking

Sindorim Sambaekga is near Exit 1 of Sindorim Station! Come out of Exit 1, cross toward Homeplus, and you will find it on the first floor of the Prugio shopping complex—but this complex is much bigger than you might expect ㅜㅜ I get confused every time I come, so let me explain the route clearly!

First, find the Paris Baguette in the middle of the complex~ To the left of Paris Baguette, you will see Daewoo Sarang Real Estate~ Go into that alley, and you will see the Sambaekga sign~

I missed the sign, circled the complex several times, and finally had to ask the real-estate office owner before I found it. So please do not get lost like I did—Paris Baguette → Daewoo Real Estate → Sambaekga!

## A neat exterior and comfortable interior

Anyway, Sambaekga is known for bossam near Sindorim Station, and it has plenty of shareable dishes such as bossam and jokbal, so it seemed like a nice place for a gathering too.

The exterior was neatly kept, giving it a comfortable atmosphere for walking in and having a meal.

Inside, it was spacious and relaxed, like a clean neighborhood favorite.

Dishes like bossam and jokbal are often chosen for family meals, get-togethers with friends, or work meals,

and Sambaekga looked suited to all of those occasions because it felt easygoing. I especially liked the varied menu: even if one person loves bossam and another prefers kalguksu, everyone can choose something that suits their taste.

There are window seats for eating alone, plus separated, room-like spaces inside that seem great for family or friend gatherings!

## A varied menu, from bossam to kalguksu

At Sambaekga, you can find a range of dishes including bossam, jokbal, and kalguksu. Their bossam is reportedly prepared fresh every day with patented domestic yakgam pork raised on Sangju persimmons, rather than ordinary pork, along with pork belly seasoned with mulberry-leaf powder.

Kalguksu is another of Sambaekga’s signature dishes. They use a clean broth and fresh noodles made with 100% domestic ingredients. When you order kalguksu, you can also enjoy the “Sambaek Kalguksu Hansang”: barley rice from the self-service station mixed with yeolmu kimchi, gochujang, and sesame oil. It made me want to come back for kalguksu next time! That day, though, we ordered a set with bossam and makguksu.

## Generous banchan, including chilled bossam

Sambaekga impressed me from the banchan (Korean side dishes) onward. The complimentary dishes were incredibly generous: chilled bossam, assorted wraps, bossam kimchi, radish kimchi, and seasoned chives~ The best part was that when you order bossam, chilled bossam comes as a side dish to enjoy alongside it haha. Its tangy, clean flavor really woke up my appetite.

I had thought of them as just side dishes, but they tasted so good that I kept reaching for them. The doenjang soup was nutty and warm, making it lovely to eat alongside everything. It was not overpowering but had a deep flavor, so it was perfect between bites of bossam and makguksu.

Not only the main dishes but also the complimentary food was delicious, which made the whole meal even more satisfying.

## Bossam served warm over a burner

Ahh, at last—today’s star, the bossam, arrived! It looked beautifully boiled and so appetizing. It comes with a burner so you can eat it warm from beginning to end! Just looking at it, the tender meat appeared moist and clean-tasting. The portion was generous too, perfect for two people to eat until they burst haha. Chives were laid beneath the bossam, helping eliminate any meaty odor once more. Such fresh, mild Sambaekga bossam!

![Bossam served with chives](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-bossam-makguksu-sambaekga/sindorim-bossam-makguksu-sambaekga-18-elene-900.webp)

I think it tasted even better because they use fresh, carefully prepared ingredients~ Time to try this soft, tender bossam~

![Bossam with accompanying sauces](https://img.superchart.com/images/sindorim-bossam-makguksu-sambaekga/sindorim-bossam-makguksu-sambaekga-19-o9i67-900.webp)

Three sauces came with it: salted shrimp, ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), and yuja syrup. I first dipped it in salted shrimp and wrapped it in napa cabbage—absolute heaven. Put a piece of bossam, radish kimchi, and seasoned chives on lettuce, and it is seriously delicious!!

The kimchi you eat with bossam matters too, and Sambaekga serves house-made fresh kimchi and Jeju radish kimchi, so there were lots of combinations to enjoy. In particular, Sambaekga’s fresh kimchi is house-made hongsi geotjeori, freshly seasoned that day with soft persimmon. Maybe that is why it had a subtle sweetness compared with ordinary fresh kimchi, and its crisp texture paired wonderfully with the tender bossam.

## With tangy, spicy makguksu

The makguksu served with the bossam cannot be left out either.

Bossam alone can become a little rich, but makguksu’s characteristically tangy, spicy seasoning and chewy noodles really revived the appetite.

After giving it a quick, tasty mix, there were loads of perilla leaves, cabbage, and shredded egg underneath too~

I wound up some makguksu and took a bite—sweet and tangy! So delicious~ It was not aggressively seasoned, but it had that delicious flavor that makes you want to keep eating. My friend and I kept exclaiming over it haha.

Eating a piece of bossam with makguksu was truly delicious: the mild meat and the tangy, spicy seasoning came together so well.

The bossam was delicious on its own, delicious with kimchi, and delicious with makguksu too hahaha.

We had said we were not that hungry today, but we completely demolished it hahaha.

## A hearty Korean meal in Sindorim

Above all, I was so happy with the chilled bossam and doenjang soup that came as side dishes. It also seems like a good choice for anyone who wants to enjoy a range of Korean dishes, including bossam, jokbal, and kalguksu. Next time, I have decided to come back for the house-made kalguksu with fresh noodles made from 100% domestic ingredients, plus barley rice 😊
