## Sarugak20 in Jeonpo, the curry restaurant formerly known as Moru Sikdang

Hey everyone, today's post is about Jeonpo's long-running favorite — (formerly) Moru Sikdang has become Sarugak20, and I finally paid it a visit after a long while. It's been a beloved curry spot for locals in Jeonpo and Seomyeon for ages. I think I've been here at least 10 times myself, but this is my first time actually posting about it haha. I still can't forget the shock the first time I tasted their curry — that's probably why they've been able to keep this place running for so long! Hahaha

This photo especially captured that Japanese vibe well, I think. They even got a new logo, transformed into a cute monkey character. It's located in the basement in Jeonpo-dong haha.

## A sunlit basement with solo seats and floor seating

Head down the stairs and you'll find this warm, sunlit space. Since the building sits on a hill, this basement layout actually works out. As a Jeonpo lunch spot, there are plenty of solo seats too.

There are two separate floor-seating tables, two big tables in the center, and where we sat there were also dedicated solo seats. I used to come here a lot for lunch in Jeonpo. Even past lunch hour, lots of couples were still coming in on dates, so I snapped a shot on our way out ^^ It's such a quiet, sentimental atmosphere that I guess a lot of people come here for a romantic date course too haha. We, of course, came purely for the food.

The interior has a bit of that Kiki's Delivery Service feel. Why does it feel so warm and comforting haha.

They serve you neatly — I love that it's a glass cup, not a paper one.

## Sarugak curry, half-and-half shrimp cream curry and croquette sides

We ordered the Sarugak curry and the half-and-half curry (shrimp cream). Is it a guy thing to go straight for the pork cutlet? He picked the Sarugak curry right away lol. My personal favorite is the shrimp cream curry.

We also ordered sausage and a sweet potato cheese croquette on the side. Even the sausage was served up looking so cute haha. The croquette had cheese melted inside, and the sweetness made for a really nice pairing. We split both, one each, nicely.

### What does the shrimp cream curry taste like?

Sarugak20's shrimp cream curry is really... if you've had it, you know — that rich, savory depth combined with authentic Japanese-style curry flavor. It's been my treasured, nostalgic go-to meal since I was 20, from back when it was Sarugak20 (formerly Moru Sikdang). That deeply simmered curry can't be compared to anything else. You can taste real, authentic Japan even during a short lunch break.

I'd really recommend this to anyone wanting a simple lunch in Jeonpo. Sarugak20's kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) is genuinely a standout side — better than my own mom's kkakdugi lol.

A bite with the sausage~ It's addictive enough that you might find yourself wanting to come back every day.

They even give you a cup of ice with your cola — such a nice touch. I really love places like this.. ♥ And the owner is so, so kind. Always greets you with a positive smile. Strongly recommended as a Jeonpo lunch spot!

## Free rice, curry and kkakdugi refills plus the iced lime water bar

And the kkakdugi, rice, and curry are all refillable!!! Where else can you find a restaurant this generous? The kkakdugi is so good, so make sure to refill it at least once.

They bring water to each table separately, but if you want ice lime water, it's set up in one corner, so help yourself and cool off haha.

We really cleaned our plates. And Sarugak20 also does delivery, so if you live in the area, try ordering it delivered sometime too. I was so happy to enjoy that familiar, delicious curry again after such a long time haha.
