Having overdone it the night before, I was racking my brain for something to fix my stomach when I remembered a kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) place I'd been to before in Jangyu. The kalguksu comes in three spice levels, and the default already includes cheongyang chili. The signature of this Jangyu spot is really the combo of dongjuk clams and cheongyang chili — that's what gives you the sharp, cooling-yet-fiery kick in the broth. Free rice on top of that, plus a seafood pancake stuffed with seafood to whet your appetite — hard to beat. Especially for someone as hungover as I was, it was the perfect place to fix myself up.
