## In short

Boksakkot Pineun Jip Daejeon Branch is a fire-grilled webfoot octopus and pork restaurant in Gyesan-dong, Yuseong, Daejeon. Returning after a few months, the writer ordered the fire-grilled webfoot octopus and pork stir-fry set, which came with gorgonzola pizza, salad and mukbap (chilled acorn jelly soup), then drank the after-meal coffee with rice crackers at the annex in the building next door. With parking, a kids' room and a self-serve corner, Boksakkot Pineun Jip is an easy repeat pick for family meals and larger groups.

Boksakkot Pineun Jip Daejeon Branch, a webfoot octopus restaurant in Gyesan-dong, Daejeon, that I visited once a few months ago — today I finally made it back after a long while. Revisiting a place months after the first visit actually means something to me. Plenty of spots seem fine the first time around but fade from memory as time passes, yet today this place just popped into my head and I decided to go back.

## Parking and how big Boksakkot Pineun Jip Daejeon Branch is

Boksakkot Pineun Jip Daejeon Branch has its own parking space, which made it easy to visit by car. Parking is actually something I weigh pretty heavily when picking a place to eat. Especially when I'm moving around with family, a restaurant with tricky parking or tucked into an alley makes me hesitate even before I get there.

There are plenty of tables in a wide space toward the back, plus a kids' room — good news for anyone visiting with children, who might want to grab a seat near it.

These are the basic side dishes they bring out — you can grab extras from the self-serve corner.

## What the fire-grilled octopus and pork set costs and includes

Today I ordered the fire-grilled octopus-pork stir-fry set. The fire-grilled menu offers octopus, pork, and webfoot octopus, and you can mix them together in one order. The spice level for the fire-grilled dishes is adjustable too (level 1 / 2 / 3).

- Fire-grilled pork stir-fry ₩14,900
- Fire-grilled octopus stir-fry ₩16,900
- Fire-grilled webfoot octopus stir-fry ₩17,900
- For 2+ people: handmade wood-fired pizza + salad / mukbap (acorn jelly soup) / coffee, kids' spaghetti, handmade pork loin cutlet, king shrimp tempura

For pizza today, the choice was between pepperoni and gorgonzola — I went with gorgonzola! Watching the table fill up dish by dish even before the main course arrived, it really felt like a set built for enjoying several menu items together.

## How smoky and spicy is the fire-grilled stir-fry?

And here comes the main dish. It actually looked even more generous in person than in photos. My first impression was: smoky, char-grilled, and looking properly spicy!! One bite in and no surprise — this place fills up with customers even before noon. It's best mixed straight into a bowl of rice. There's seaweed soup at the self-serve corner, so grab a bowl and eat it alongside!

Boksakkot is best known for its fire-grilled dishes, and the smoky char really comes through here — even mixing octopus and pork together, neither one has any fishy or gamey edge, just a clean, spicy flavor!

Getting to eat salad, pizza, and mukbap (acorn jelly soup) all together is one of the fun parts of Boksakkot. It feels much more suited to a group meal where everyone shares a bit of everything than a solo one-dish sitting.

## After-meal coffee at the annex next door

They hand you a coffee on your way out after paying, and it's not just americano — there's latte and tea options too, so it should suit everyone. Taking it to-go and having a cup at the building right next to the restaurant is a really nice touch at Boksakkot Pineun Jip Daejeon Branch. The vibe is a bit different from a quiet little solo-dining spot, but honestly, that's exactly what works better for a family meal or a big group gathering. With so many menu items, everyone can pick what they want while still sharing dishes together — worth keeping in mind if you're looking for a spot for a family outing or a group meal. Heading out of the restaurant and over to the building next door :-)

The breeze is nice, there's terrace seating, and plenty of tables further inside, so you don't even need to head to a separate café for a cup of tea afterward. No worrying about parking time either, and there are several kinds of rice crackers set out on one side for everyone to help themselves to.

Grabbed a few, had them with coffee, breeze drifting by — a place where you can take your time after a meal.

## Was Boksakkot Pineun Jip worth a second visit?

Went back to Boksakkot Pineun Jip Daejeon Branch today, and I naturally ended up taking stock of the food, the parking, the size of the place, and the dining atmosphere all over again. In the end, I think it's a place worth returning to even months later.

If you're looking for somewhere to eat around Gyesan-dong or Sutonggol in Daejeon, this is worth keeping in mind — especially if you're after a spot that works well for a family visit or a comfortable meal with a group. Had another great meal today. Curious what I'll try next time. :)
