## Huni Gejang in Yuryang-dong, Cheonan: crab soup near Taejosan

I found a really good crab soup place!! It's Huni Gejang, located in Yuryang-dong, Cheonan. Since it's near Taejosan, it'd be great to stop by after taking the kids to the Taejosan forest playground, or after hiking Taejosan 👍🏻

### What Huni Gejang looks like outside, and where to park

Here's the exterior — Huni Gejang is on the 1st floor :) Just park in the lot and walk straight in through the entrance.

The parking lot is fairly spacious, and it doesn't seem like there'd be a shortage of spots even during lunch or dinner peak times!

Right when you walk in, there's a coffee machine on the right, and every table has a white plastic cover! Also, please note that due to food safety concerns, leftovers from Huni Gejang's dishes can't be packed to go 🦀

There are also plenty of tables and they're spacious, which I loved. There's decent distance from tables in front, behind, and beside you, so it's comfortable for conversation too.

There's a baby chair too, so if you're visiting with a baby, that's good to know :)

## Huni Gejang menu prices and the kids' rice option

Here's Huni Gejang's menu board. Soy-marinated crab, spicy marinated crab, crab soup — just reading the names sounds delicious.

The crab soup comes in small, medium, and large sizes, and there are also set menus like the crab set and roe-filled crab set — having photos makes it easier to choose. Huni Gejang also has kids' rice for preschoolers.

If you run out of side dishes while eating, you can order refills right from the tablet on the table, which was so convenient.

## Side dishes and pot-cooked rice: the kids finished a bowl first

The main dish we ordered was the Traditional Crab Soup, small size, ₩70,000! It had been a while since I'd had crab soup, so I was so excited the moment we ordered 🤧💗

These are the side dishes set out before the main dish arrived. Maybe because the kids had been running around in the forest, they ate the side dishes and rice so well. With bracken fern, seaweed, and tofu, the two of them polished off a whole bowl of rice together 👍🏻

Then they scooped more of our rice and happily ate it with the steamed egg too 🤣

Since the kids were eating so much seaweed, the owner brought out more 🐷 Next to it are hygiene gloves! Good for picking apart crab and eating.

My husband ordered pot rice, and we scooped some out, added water to the pot, and ate the moist rice too — I really recommend pot rice over regular bowl rice! It's more moist and delicious..🍚

## The main event: small Traditional Crab Soup, 70,000 won 🦀

Finally, the main dish, the small crab soup, arrived! The Traditional Crab Soup serves 2–3 people and apparently comes with 4 large blue crabs. It takes about 15 minutes to come out, and once it's on the table, you simmer it for 5 more minutes using the hourglass timer! 🦀🦀

Oh, and the crab soup pot was seriously huge... I was thinking, how are the two of us going to finish this..? .. In the end we did finish it though 🤣🦀 The pot was so deep too — packed with crab, vegetables, and a ton of broth, which I loved!!

They put the crab soup on the burner and gave us a 5-minute sand timer, and it went by faster than I expected. By the time we finished feeding the kids, it was time to eat.

Once the crab soup was boiling hard, the broth looked even richer. I tried a bite, and oh.. the broth flavor was exactly my style.

There were 4 large crabs, halved. Honestly, just eating the crab and a little broth without rice already filled me up?!! Still, I'd absolutely recommend clearing the crab first and then eating rice with the broth.

After eating white rice with a few spoonfuls of broth, I felt like I was curing a hangover even though I hadn't had a drink.. 🦀🦀

The crab meat was plump in every single piece too. No wonder just eating the crab alone fills you up.. 💗

### Finishing the broth with a ramen noodle add-on

After finishing the crab soup and rice, add ramen noodles! Never forget to, write it down. Adding ramen noodles to the rich broth was paradise.. There's no resisting ramen in red broth!

We barely talked, just kept saying it was delicious with our heads down eating, and before we knew it every last bit was gone? haha Both of us felt like we'd burst, but it was so good we kept scooping up broth even after finishing. If you love crab soup, I really want to recommend you visit Huni Gejang.

After finishing our meal, at checkout they let us try a lucky draw event! Our baby had fallen asleep in my arms so I just grabbed whatever was closest, and got 5th place lol, that's basically last place... I got some crab and snacks 🤣🤣🦀

Anyway, after eating your fill, taking a short walk on the path in front of the restaurant helps with digestion, so I'd recommend that too ✨ Huni Gejang was so good it keeps coming to mind — if you love crab, you have to visit 🤧💗
