## In short

Bapkkot Hana Pieotne is a Korean restaurant on Sinwonsa-ro in Gyeryong-myeon, Gongju. The writer reserved a private room for a weekend late lunch before checking into a glamping site, ordering 2 servings of charcoal-grilled pork and 1 serving of tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties) alongside a spread of banchan (side dishes), and loved mixing the namul (seasoned vegetables) with doenjang (soybean paste) into rice. With parking up to Lot 3, it's an easy stop for a family outing by car.

I was out in Gongju and wanted to eat well before checking into a glamping site, so I went looking for good spots near Daejeon. I was craving Korean food and found Bapkkot Hana Pieotne — and wow, we had a proper feast! The kids ate really well at this Korean set meal restaurant too ^^

## Is parking easy? There's parking all the way to Lot 3

When traveling in Gongju you usually get around by car, so it was great that Bapkkot Hana Pieotne had plenty of parking set up.

There's Lot 1, Lot 2, and all the way up to Lot 3. With that many lots, it really must be a famous restaurant in Gongju. We came by car and could park without any worries at all.

The walk from the parking lot to the restaurant had a really nice atmosphere too. It has a charm different from the sleek new restaurants popping up these days. With the trees and greenery all around, it truly felt like a Gongju trip — like coming to eat at a cozy countryside house.

They're closed every Monday ^^ Just so you know~~~

## A weekend late lunch, reserved and seated in a room

From the entrance, you get a strong sense of a quiet, traditional hanok atmosphere. It felt like visiting a cozy old country house, so I was already excited before even going in.

Even though it was a late lunch on the weekend, the place was packed. Luckily we'd made a reservation, so we were shown to a private room ^^ The inside is spacious with lots of tables. With that many customers, it really lives up to being a Gongju favorite.

## A spread of basic banchan

The banchan (side dishes) alone came out incredibly generous. Salad, namul (seasoned vegetables), dubu-kimchi (tofu with stir-fried kimchi) — each one so neat and clean that my chopsticks kept reaching over before the main dishes even arrived.

I tried every single side dish and they were all delicious. With buckwheat noodles, jeon (savory pancakes), and fried dishes all showing up too, it really felt like enjoying a full Korean set meal.

## Charcoal-grilled pork (2 servings) + Tteokgalbi (1 serving)

For the mains we ordered 2 servings of charcoal-grilled pork and 1 serving of tteokgalbi. The charcoal pork had a spicy marinade with smoky char that went great with rice, and the tteokgalbi was soft and juicy, perfect for the kids too. This place is known for its tteokgalbi as the signature dish — the kids really tore through it.

Mixing those namul side dishes into rice was seriously good. Adding a spoonful of the savory doenjang on top made it a total rice-thief!

Stopping by Bapkkot Hana Pieotne during our Gongju trip, I understood why it's so packed. From the banchan to the mains, everything was generous and tasty, so we left one really satisfying meal fuller. If you're looking for a solid Korean restaurant in Gongju, I'd recommend this place.

## Featured on TV and Blue Ribbon certified

Looking around one side of the restaurant, I noticed it's been featured on TV several times. It's also received the Blue Ribbon award for both 2025 and 2026 in a row, so it really is a well-known Korean restaurant in Gongju. I should bring my parents here next time ^^

If you want a satisfying Korean meal while traveling in Gongju, I'd recommend Bapkkot Hana Pieotne. With a generous spread and great taste, it's a place I'd love to visit again next time I'm in Gongju.
