## In short

Marblejeong is a Korean beef grill restaurant in Seongdong, Seoul, where I parked in the dedicated space beside the restaurant and had staff grill our assorted beef at our pace. The clean dining room and attentive grilling made conversation easy, and the Hamheung-style cold noodles were a satisfying finish.

Whenever I made plans in Seongsu-dong, finding parking was always something I had to think about. At Marblejeong (마블정), the Korean beef restaurant I visited this time, there was a dedicated parking space beside the restaurant, and the staff grilled the meat for us, which made the whole meal easy.

## Is parking convenient if you drive?

Marblejeong is on the second floor at 57 Seongsui-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. I could park in the dedicated space directly beside the restaurant and walk straight in, so I did not have to look around for a separate parking lot.

## Is it a comfortable place to talk over a meal?

When I visited, the dining room felt comfortable, without an unpleasant oily smell or thick smoke. The tables were not packed closely together, so it was easy to talk. I thought it would work well for a date, a small gathering, or a company dinner.

## What comes with the assorted Hanwoo grill, and how much is it?

We ordered the 1++ Hanwoo assorted grill, which included sirloin, jebichuri (beef neck fillet), and chadolbagi (thinly sliced brisket). The regular price listed in the original post is ₩159,000, and it says this menu is 20% off at lunchtime. However, the post does not state the discount hours, detailed conditions, or whether the discount was applied.

## What side dishes come with the Korean beef?

The basic table setting was neat. A sweet-and-tangy mozzarella salad and seasoned lettuce salad arrived first and whetted my appetite.

Wasabi, pickled mushrooms, perilla leaf pesto, and Maldon salt also came with the meat. The fragrant perilla leaf pesto and textured pickled mushrooms stood out in particular. They cut through the richness of the beef, so I switched up the accompaniments with each cut.

## Do the staff grill the meat all the way through?

The staff grilled the meat from start to finish. Since I did not have to keep watching the grill myself, it was easy to continue talking with the person I came with while we ate.

We ate the juicy sirloin first, followed by the mild, chewy jebichuri, then the savory chadolbagi. The staff grilled it at our pace and moved cooked pieces to the side of the grill, so I could focus on the texture and flavor of each cut.

## How were the Hamheung-style cold noodles added to the meal?

After the beef, we ordered Hamheung-style mulnaengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in broth). I do not usually expect much from cold noodles at barbecue restaurants because the seasoning can taste too strong or the noodles can be soggy, but here the broth, topped with thin ice, tasted deep and clean.

The noodles were thin, springy, and chewy, and they also went well wrapped with the beef. We finished the whole bowl of noodles and ended the meal. What I appreciated most on this visit was the convenient parking and being able to keep the conversation going while the meat was grilled.
