Trying to figure out what to eat in Daehangno on a weekday lunch, I ended up at Meono Kkameona Daehangno Branch. The set menus were nicely put together too, so if you're looking for a budget-friendly Indian curry spot among Daehangno restaurants, this one's worth a look.

Meono Kkameona Daehangno Branch was about a 5-minute walk from Hyehwa Station. There's a CGV and various cafés nearby too, so it doubles nicely as a date spot.

## Inside Meono Kkameona: solo lunch tables and group seating

Inside, there were people dining solo, as well as tables that looked like coworkers on a lunch outing.

There's group seating that's great for gatherings, so you can go with friends and share several curries, or drop in solo when you're craving Indian curry — the vibe felt more approachable than I expected either way.

## Meono Kkameona menu and the set menus for 2 to 4 people

Ordering was simple — just tag your phone at the order screen on the table.

The options were a lot more varied than I expected. Beyond curries, there's chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, biryani, fried noodles, and more Indian dishes. What caught my eye especially were the set menus, ranging from 2 to 4 people. If you're visiting for the first time and can't decide what to order, going with a set seems like a safe bet.

![A la carte order details of curry and naan](https://img.superchart.com/images/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani-11-zrqlq-900.webp)

We knew exactly what we wanted, so we went a la carte this time — Chicken Tikka HALF, Chicken Masala, Prawn Makhani, plus butter naan and garlic naan, basmati rice, and even plain lassi! We picked two different curries to compare flavors, and ordered a variety of naan and rice to alternate with each dish.

![Notice about 3 pieces of momo for a Naver receipt review](https://img.superchart.com/images/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani-12-2z0tr-900.webp)

Just so you know — leaving a Naver receipt review gets you 3 pieces of momo, so take advantage of that perk if you go.

## How was the Chicken Tikka HALF?

![Chicken Tikka HALF served on a hot pan](https://img.superchart.com/images/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani-13-clp62-900.webp)

The chicken tikka came out first. Big chunks of chicken arrived on a hot pan with vegetables, the surface browned nicely — the aroma alone got my appetite going.

![Cross-section of chicken tikka with a browned outside](https://img.superchart.com/images/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani-15-1bbmd-900.webp)

The outside carried a strong tandoori spice flavor, but the inside was surprisingly tender — I liked the contrast between the outside and inside. The more you chew, the plain savoriness of the chicken and the fragrant, faintly spicy notes of the spices come through subtly. The spice aroma wasn't overwhelming, so I think it'd be manageable even for people who aren't used to Indian food.

As the dishes started coming out one by one, the table filled up fast.

### Butter naan or garlic naan: which curry did each suit?

![Large butter naan and garlic naan fresh off the grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani-17-1dxo0-900.webp)

![Charred naan served alongside curry](https://img.superchart.com/images/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani/daehangno-indian-curry-chicken-tikka-prawn-makhani-18-2js3q-900.webp)

Curry needs naan, of course. The naan came out large, charred golden in spots, tearing softly at the thin parts while the edges kept a slight chewiness. The butter naan added a nutty richness that matched well with the mild prawn makhani, while the garlic naan's fragrant garlic really held its own against a rich curry like chicken masala.

### Prawn Makhani (shrimp in buttery tomato curry)

Prawn makhani is on the creamier, milder side thanks to the cream base. I liked how the plump texture and subtle sweetness of the prawns came through amid the smooth, creamy curry. It's savory with a touch of sweetness, so if you're not used to strong spices, this one would feel more comfortable.

### Was the Chicken Masala spicy?

Chicken masala turned out less spicy than expected — one bite gave a tomato-based flavor layered with distinct spice notes for a fairly rich taste. Rather than just spicy and sharp, the flavors unfolded one after another the more you ate, making it a curry that kept me reaching for the naan.

### Basmati rice and plain lassi at Meono Kkameona

Naan alone felt like it wasn't quite enough, so we ordered basmati rice too. Unlike Korean rice, it's not sticky at all — the long grains stayed loose and separate.

And the plain lassi we sipped between bites paired well too. The yogurt's tang with a hint of sweetness cleared the palate nicely after a bite of a spice-heavy curry.

## Is Meono Kkameona Daehangno worth it for a weekday lunch?

You could keep it simple with one curry and one naan, but ordering two curries plus chicken tikka, naan, and rice like we did meant we got to keep switching between spicy and fragrant, savory and creamy, chewy naan and loose rice — a lot more fun that way. The set menus are well put together too, so it's a good option when you're looking for a Daehangno restaurant to visit with a group or a lunch gathering spot, and if you want to enjoy a hearty Indian curry meal without breaking the bank, Meono Kkameona Daehangno Branch was solid :)
