## In short

Meono Kkameona Daehangno Branch is an Indian restaurant near Hyehwa Station in Jongno, Seoul. After a Seoul National University Hospital appointment and a walk around Changgyeonggung Palace, we shared the 2-person B set with chicken tikka, mild chicken curry, butter naan, and lassi; my child especially loved the lassi and curry. Verdict: a comfortable choice for Indian food with a child in Daehangno.

## Reliving my first Indian-food memory from over 10 years ago, with my child

Meono Kkameona was where I first tried Indian food. It has already been more than 10 years since my first visit! This time, after finishing an appointment at Seoul National University Hospital and taking a walk around Changgyeonggung Palace with my child, I came back for the first time in ages.

I was looking for a good Daehangno restaurant to visit with my child and wanted to revisit an old memory too. It was so nice to see that this Hyehwa Station favorite, which has held its spot for so long, was still there. With Daehangno Indian curry dishes that children can enjoy without any pressure, it made a lovely post-outing meal stop.

## Basic information and parking

Public parking can be hard to find in Daehangno, so whenever I come to this area, I tend to use the Modu Parking app to find a shared parking space. If you are driving to a Daehangno restaurant, it is more convenient to check parking in advance.

Meono Kkameona is in the lively Hyehwa area of Daehangno, so it is easy enough to find. It is also a nice walk from Changgyeonggung Palace and easily accessible from Hyehwa Station.

I first came here when I started working at a nearby company. I visited for a team lunch and had Indian food for the first time, dipping naan into curry. I was surprised by how delicious it was, and that memory is still so vivid. Coming back to this memorable Daehangno restaurant with my child now brought back old memories and felt strangely moving.

## A comfortable atmosphere at the Daehangno branch

When I stepped inside, I was even happier because it looked almost exactly as I remembered it. I recently visited the Sinchon branch too, and the food felt nearly the same, but personally, the Daehangno branch felt more comfortable for a meal because it is a little roomier and the staff were kind.

It has a great atmosphere for small groups of friends, couples, or families to enjoy Daehangno Indian curry. At lunchtime, I also saw people dining alone, so it seems like a Hyehwa Station restaurant where solo diners would not feel too self-conscious.

## The 2-person B set that was easy to share with my child

You can order using the QR code on the table. We chose the 2-person B set, which was an easy choice for my child and me to share. At ₩17,000 per person, it includes chicken tikka, curry, salad, naan, and two lassis. Being able to try several dishes at once made it feel like very good value among Daehangno restaurants.

If you are trying Daehangno Indian curry for the first time, ordering a set like this is a good idea. It is a satisfying lineup that lets you sample the signature dishes evenly.

### Salad and chicken tikka

First, the salad, side dishes, and chicken tikka arrived.

The salad was refreshing, with a subtle orange aroma and fresh vegetables.

The chicken tikka looked spicy because of its red seasoning, but it was not very spicy for me. My child, who is not used to spicy food yet, found it a little hot, though, so they mostly ate the curry.

The chicken was mostly lean and pleasantly light, without being dry or chalky. It was delicious on its own and also paired beautifully with the curry.

### Rich lassi that my child drank happily

And what my child really loved was the lassi, a yogurt drink. At another Indian restaurant, my child had once left almost all of a strongly spiced lassi. Here, though, there was almost none of that spice aroma, just a rich yogurt flavor that was perfect for my taste too. My child said it was delicious and drank it so well. If you are looking for a Hyehwa Station restaurant to visit with a child, try ordering the lassi too.

### Butter naan and mild chicken curry

Then the naan, turmeric rice, and curry all arrived.

I upgraded the regular naan to butter naan, and the rich, nutty butter flavor made it much more delicious.

Since I was eating with my child, I chose the non-spicy chicken curry. It was slightly sweet and smooth, with a faint yogurt note like the lassi, so it was just right to share with a child.

It was delicious to tear off warm naan and dip it generously into the curry, and it also went wonderfully mixed with the turmeric rice.

I chose chicken curry this time, but Meono Kkameona's spinach curry and lamb curry are delicious too. If you visit with several people, I recommend ordering different kinds and sharing them. It is fun to try a range of Daehangno Indian curries that way.

## A meal after a walk around Changgyeonggung Palace

From the Seoul National University Hospital appointment to our walk around Changgyeonggung Palace and then a meal at a Daehangno restaurant, it all flowed naturally into a lovely day with my child. Most of all, what stayed with me was returning with my child, more than 10 years later, to the place where I first ate Indian food.

At ₩17,000 per person, we could enjoy everything from chicken tikka and curry to naan, salad, and lassi, so the price did not feel burdensome either. It is a good Hyehwa Station restaurant to visit after an outing at Changgyeonggung Palace or before or after a Daehangno performance.

From the child-friendly chicken curry to the nutty butter naan and rich lassi, this was a satisfying Daehangno restaurant. If you want to comfortably enjoy several kinds of Daehangno Indian curry, stop by this long-standing Hyehwa Station favorite.
