Famous Benny is a Blue Ribbon-selected brunch café built around Australian-style brunch. There aren’t many brunch cafés in Gwangalli that open early, but Famous Benny opens from 8 AM. It was sweet and nutty. I usually love cream of mushroom soup, and this one was thicker, with the flavor of a wider variety of mushrooms. It normally comes with truffle oil, but I don’t like truffle, so I asked for it without. A baguette comes alongside it, and dipping it deep into the soup is sooo good. We had a lot of food, so I couldn’t finish the baguette, but the soup alone could probably fill you up. The atmosphere was lovely, but for a café, the food was also fresh overall, with such a good balance of different ingredients. Even the fresh-pressed apple-carrot juice was perfect. You could come alone, have a light meal, and get a little laptop work done.
