## How to get to Paldo Ppyeogui Suyeong Main Branch from Suyeong Station

You know how everyone has at least one restaurant saved on social media or maps, just waiting for the right day to go? I had one, too, and since I happened to be passing nearby, I finally got to visit! This is Paldo Ppyeogui Suyeong Main Branch (팔도뼈구이 수영본점), where you can try an unusual meat dish, richly grilled in a sweet-and-spicy sauce until it practically melts in your mouth.

First, exit Suyeong Station through Exit 5 and walk straight ahead for about 50 m. You will see the Dion Place Urban Officetel building; turn right around it, then walk about 10 m. Continue another 20 m along the inner road past Dokudoku, and you will arrive at the Ace Centum Village shopping complex—today's destination!

There were customers when I visited, so I could not capture the whole place, but I took a few shots of the empty areas to give you a little feel for the interior.

The menu is nicely packed, from the signature bone grill and individual dishes to set menus that make it easy to mix and match. The basic Paldo bone grill comes in salt-grilled, soy sauce, less-spicy, or spicy flavors, while there is also an extra-hot bone grill and Paldo haejang jeongol (hangover stew), a soupy dish.

There were also plenty of sets pairing bone grill with pasta, rice balls, mozzarella cheese, assorted fried foods, or haejang jeongol. Every set comes with free Bushman bread, and Paldo cream pasta, assorted fried foods, steamed egg, DIY rice balls, fried rice, extra add-ons, alcohol, and drinks are all easy sides to add.

## Ordering the soy-sauce rice-ball set

I ordered the small soy-sauce rice-ball set for ₩35,000 and a Zero Coke for ₩2,000.

### Bushman bread and steamed egg

Before the main dish arrived, out came the Bushman bread! When the staff brought it over, they explained a delicious way to eat it: once the bone grill arrives, pull off some meat, tuck it into the bread, and eat it like a sandwich. The bread was nutty and tasty on its own, but I was so curious about how it would pair with the bone grill!

It also came with steamed egg as a basic side! I thought the mild steamed egg would be the perfect partner to soothe the palate alongside the salty-sweet bone grill.

Next, the DIY rice balls included in the set arrived, too!

They also gave me disposable gloves, so I shaped the rice into cute little rounds. Just thinking about eating them with the sweet-and-spicy bone-grill sauce made my mouth water. I was so hungry that I snuck a few first..

A mountain of tempting bone grill arrived on a hot cast-iron plate with plenty of soy sauce, topped with chewy rice cakes, finely sliced scallions, and a sprinkling of sesame seeds. It was the kind of sight that instantly makes your mouth water.

The signature sweet-and-salty soy sauce had soaked deeply into the meat. There was no gaminess at all, and the meat just melted away in my mouth.

Just as the staff had suggested, I slipped a thick piece of meat into the Bushman bread and ate it like a sandwich. It was unusual, yet the combination worked incredibly well.
