Rather than serving only the raw beef, they bring sides that work perfectly as both a meal and drinking snacks, so I was even more satisfied. Raw beef is naturally a higher-priced menu item, so ₩59,000 did not feel cheap at first. I already tend to love mungtigi, but it was my no-question top pick of everything we ate that day. The thinly sliced brisket sashimi had a distinctly different nutty flavor and a tender texture from the mungtigi! For my taste, though, I preferred the chewy, bouncy texture and savory flavor of the mungtigi dipped deeply in makjang (soybean dipping sauce). Still, being able to alternate between the two on one platter meant I never got tired of it and could enjoy every last bite ~!!! Next time, I want to try another kind of mungtigi, haha. If you are trying raw beef for the first time on a trip to Daegu, or looking for a place in Jongno to have soju with friends, Chulgeungil Saenggogi Daegu Jongno Branch could be a good stop.
