## Where is Andover, the Baekhyeon-dong brunch restaurant in Pangyo?

Andover is a brunch-style Western restaurant on Baekhyeon-dong Café Street in Pangyo, right across from Kiro Bakery, famous for its salt bread. The food is good, the atmosphere is really lovely, and it's easy to go with a child, which made me like this Pangyo brunch spot even more. There's a terrace too, so it's just right for days when the weather is as nice as it is lately.

## What are Andover's terrace and indoor seats like?

The terrace is covered in white tablecloths, so it feels fresh and a little upscale, while the indoors has slightly dim lighting for a moody feel. We came at lunchtime for brunch, but the mood was perfect for wine.

The inside is softly lit and mostly black in tone, but it still gets plenty of daylight, so we could enjoy that happy weekend-afternoon feeling. The fresh, pretty flowers on every table add to the mood too.

There were two kinds of water: regular filtered water and lime detox water. The staff bring the basic tableware and utensils, but if you need extras like small plates, you can just help yourself here.

## Is Andover a good brunch spot with kids?

When you bring a child to Andover, they give you wide kids' tableware, and they even serve the child's portion of pickles without the jalapeños. Since we came with our kid, they gave us kids' tableware, and it was nice and roomy, great for setting out a bit of this and that. Kind of buffet-style, you know? Even the kids' tableware at Andover is stylish.

The pickles were unusual: whole cucumbers scored with cuts and pickled, and they're served to match the number of people. They even gave the child a separate portion without jalapeños, which made me feel kind of respected, you know...

I couldn't write it all down, but I liked that some dishes, like the shrimp bisque pasta, also come in a spicy version. The spicy one sounds good too, but since we were eating with our child, we ordered the mild one. And it was a huge success...!

## How does Andover's whole tomato marinade taste?

Andover's whole tomato marinade (₩15,000) is a salad of whole tomatoes with thick ricotta cheese and basil pesto, and it came out first. I make cherry tomato marinade at home, but this was my first time with whole tomatoes.

And then the really thick, delicious ricotta and the basil pesto...! So fresh, yet tangy, sweet and nutty. I'd worried it was too obvious a combination, but it was my thinking that was obvious... A salad I recommend!

## Will kids eat the shrimp bisque pasta ordered mild?

Andover's shrimp bisque pasta (₩26,000) uses linguine with bisque sauce, and when we ordered the mild version, our child ate it better than almost anything. The linguine, which pairs well with bisque, tasted really nutty on its own. I think that's probably because the sauce was so good, though...

The shrimp are huge. The bisque sauce is neither too thick nor too thin, and the savory depth is explosive, so we peeled the shrimp and dipped them, soaked the noodles in it, and dipped the baguette too.

Does our child always eat pasta this well? It was one of the best-eaten dishes ever, this shrimp bisque pasta. I'd absolutely recommend it for adults on their own, and for anyone coming with a child.

## What is Andover's flounder steak like?

Andover's flounder steak (₩32,000) is tender flounder with vegetables, clams and tomato in a shallow pool of broth. Bouillabaisse? A dish like that, with a little brothy liquid, tender flounder, vegetables, clams and tomato... It was mild yet delicious.

I should have had a glass of white wine with it...! None of the dishes were salty, and they'd all make great wine snacks. There was a slight spicy kick underneath too, so it never felt bland... And although I thought the portion might not be enough, I was satisfied after eating.

### Buttered baguette on the side

The baguette, lightly buttered and toasted, is good dipped in the flounder steak broth, good with the dish piled on top, and goes well with the bisque sauce too, so I enjoyed it in every way.

## Who should visit Andover in Pangyo?

Andover has lots of dishes that kids can eat, so it's good to visit with a child, and the atmosphere is so nice that it's perfect for a date or a weekend change-of-pace brunch. It's a Pangyo brunch spot with a terrace.
