Seowon Angil Hapjeong is a large two-floor café at 34 Jandari-ro 3-gil, Mapo-gu, walkable from Exit 3 of Hapjeong Station. After catching a morning movie at CGV Yeonnam, we were trying to decide where to go for lunch and ended up here. Not wanting to head straight home after the film, we wandered slowly through the Hongdae streets toward Hapjeong. It's also a pleasant walking distance from Hongdae, so it's great for stopping by after a movie or date like we did. When cream is too sweet it can mask the coffee flavor, but Seowon Angil's Einspänner kept the deep coffee aroma intact while still delivering that creamy softness. Honestly one of the best Einspänners I've had. The sauce was on the rich side, with a reasonable amount of ground beef, so the meaty flavor came through gently. The soft rigatoni soaked up the sauce nicely, giving it a savory, rich taste, and dipping the baguette that came alongside into the leftover sauce worked really well too. The plain bread paired with the rich mushroom flavor, and with bites of carrot rapée and salad in between, there was a nice variety of tastes and textures.
