I'm a thirty-three-year-old office worker who works near Suwon Station. It was 11:45 on a Saturday morning. My coworker and I only had an hour and a half for lunch. Budget: under 70,000 won for the two of us.

My stomach was growling but my brain was blank. I needed to find a place to eat samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) near Suwon Station, but when I pulled up the map, all I saw were franchises.

Ssosam 208. I arrived at 12:10. A staff member stood at the door checking the reservation list — I secretly nicknamed him the Guardian of the Grill. He led us to a table with a volcano grill. On top sat a black stone plate rising up like an actual volcano.

## Parking, group dinners and what we would order next time

I didn't bring a car, but I thought that if I ever came with a group, parking wouldn't be an issue. I couldn't believe a BBQ place like this existed such a short walk from Suwon Station. It's just a 5-minute walk from Lotte Mall or AK Plaza after shopping. Perfect for a company dinner too — group seating runs from a minimum of two up to seventy-eight people, so I should suggest it for our next department dinner.

I regretted the 30 minutes I spent wandering around looking for a pork BBQ spot near Suwon Station. Why didn't I know about this place sooner? A sizzling piece of samgyeopsal off the volcano grill paired with the lava fondue sauce is an experience you can't easily find around here.
