## In short

Nansan-ri Restaurant is a course-meal restaurant tucked inside the quiet village of Nansan-ri in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju. After a first solo visit, the writer returned with a friend and booked the 38,000 won lunch course — bracken butter with pre-meal bread, an egg dish, romaine Caesar salad, Jeju black pork tenderloin steak, pasta and panna cotta — paired with non-alcoholic rosé wine because of the drive. Nansan-ri Restaurant suits slow conversation in a peaceful village, and the second visit was just as satisfying as the first.

On this Jeju trip I wanted a special lunch, so I headed to Nansan-ri Restaurant in Seongsan, Jeju! I'd visited once before on a solo trip — the food was great and I loved the atmosphere, so it stuck in my memory.

This time too I went in with high expectations :)

## Where is Nansan-ri Restaurant in Seongsan, Jeju?

Nansan-ri Restaurant is located at 38 Nansan-ro 41beon-gil, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, South Korea, tucked inside the quiet village of Nansan-ri. It's closed every Tuesday, with hours of 10:00–21:00.

The vibe here is quite different from restaurants sitting right in the middle of Seongsan's tourist area. You head into the quiet village of Nansan-ri and it's there, and the calm surroundings really give you that proper Jeju-trip feeling. I loved this atmosphere the first time I visited, and coming back after all this time, it was just as good.

## Nansan-ri Restaurant lunch price and how to book

Nansan-ri Restaurant is a course-meal restaurant set inside a quiet village in Seongsan-eup. Lunch is ₩38,000 per person, served in two time slots — 11:30 and 13:00 — while dinner is ₩68,000 at 6:30pm! It's best to book ahead, and for same-day reservations they ask you to call haha.

Since I'd booked ahead, they had everything set up like this for us! haha

You can enter 10 minutes before lunch starts, so I went in a bit early and quickly snapped some photos haha. So pretty, right? ㅠㅠ

![Reserved table setting at Nansan-ri Restaurant](https://img.superchart.com/images/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch-05-d1aau-966.webp)

![Interior of Nansan-ri Restaurant with wood-tone furniture](https://img.superchart.com/images/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch-06-1olud-966.webp)

Deep wood-tone furniture paired with calm colors gives it a feel that's comfortable yet still atmospheric — more relaxed than a flashy fine-dining spot. If you're searching for Seongsan, Jeju course-meal restaurants but prefer somewhere quiet to chat over a meal rather than a crowded place, this would suit you well. It runs on a reservation system with separate lunch and dinner courses!

## What comes in the Nansan-ri Restaurant lunch course?

![Nansan-ri Restaurant lunch course menu layout](https://img.superchart.com/images/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch-08-ij8ku-966.webp)

What I booked was the lunch course! It goes bread, egg dish, salad, main, pasta, and dessert, served one after another.

### Pre-meal bread with bracken butter

![Pre-meal bread with house-made bracken butter](https://img.superchart.com/images/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch-10-1rbm1-966.webp)

The course opens with pre-meal bread and bracken butter! A lightly toasted baguette comes with house-made bracken (gosari) butter. Bracken is a familiar ingredient in Jeju, but bracken butter isn't something you see often, right? Spread generously on the bread, the nutty, smooth butter flavor blends with the faint aroma of bracken in a way that works surprisingly well!!! So good haha. Starting the course with such a Jeju-specific ingredient already made it feel different from a standard Western course.

### Egg dish with mushroom cream and tomato sauce

Next is personally my most memorable dish at Nansan-ri Restaurant — the egg dish! A soft soft-boiled egg sits over tomato sauce, with mushroom cream and even caviar on top, so it looks pretty impressive from the start.

You just crack the egg open and mix everything with the sauce.

The tomato sauce sitting between the soft egg and the creamy sauce keeps it from getting too rich, and the caviar adds a nice accent, so you get several flavors in a single bite. The concept itself was fun and felt like exactly the kind of dish you'd expect from a Seongsan, Jeju course-meal restaurant.

### Romaine Caesar salad

After that comes a salad to reset your palate! Colorful and pretty to look at too haha. Romaine with Caesar dressing, bacon, and parmesan.

The romaine was crisp with great texture, and the salty bacon and parmesan kept the salad from feeling plain. It was a perfect bite between the creamy egg dish and the main course. 👍🏻

![Close-up of the salad plate](https://img.superchart.com/images/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch-14-lnkz6-966.webp)

![Jeju black pork tenderloin steak with roasted rosemary potatoes](https://img.superchart.com/images/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch-15-m36s8-966.webp)

### Jeju black pork tenderloin with rosemary roast potatoes

And then the main dish we'd been waiting for! Jeju black pork tenderloin steak arrived.

When people think of Jeju black pork, they usually picture grilled black pork over a tabletop grill! But at Nansan-ri Restaurant you get to enjoy it as a steak, which makes for a nice change.

What especially stood out was the accompanying myeoljeot (fermented anchovy) cream sauce. Pairing black pork with myeoljeot — a very Jeju combination — reimagined in a course-dining style felt memorable. Being tenderloin, the texture was tender and clean on its own, and the sauce made the flavor even richer.

The roasted rosemary potatoes served alongside were also a treat, great to eat between bites of the steak. The main can also be swapped to grilled octopus steak for an extra charge! That sounds delicious too.

### Pasta and house-made pickles

After the main, the pasta comes next. You'd think you'd be full after all that meat, but somehow there's always room left for pasta haha.

![Slightly spicy pasta from the lunch course](https://img.superchart.com/images/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch-17-hfqov-966.webp)

It had a rich flavor with a slight kick of spice, which was a nice change of pace after the creamy sauce and meat from earlier. The house-made pickles served alongside were crisp and tangy, perfect for snacking on in between.

You might think a course would mean small portions per plate, but by the time you get through the pasta too, it's surprisingly filling!

## Non-alcoholic rosé wine for drivers 🍷

Nansan-ri Restaurant's drink menu has wine, non-alcoholic options, beer, and soft drinks. This time I wanted a drink to go along with the meal, so I ordered non-alcoholic rosé wine. On a Jeju trip where you have to drive, you often end up holding back on wine even when you want it, so having a non-alcoholic option was really nice. Poured into a glass alongside the course, it set the mood perfectly too haha.

![Non-alcoholic rosé wine poured into a glass](https://img.superchart.com/images/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch-19-4jhet-966.webp)

I went with the wine they recommended! It was light and refreshing with a subtle sweetness lingering afterward, which paired nicely with lighter dishes like the pre-meal bread or the salad. If you can't drink or find wine too much of a hassle because you're driving, going non-alcoholic is a great way to still enjoy the mood :)

### Finishing with panna cotta

The meal wrapped up with panna cotta! Soft and sweet, it wasn't heavy to finish the course with, and it made for a genuinely pleasant end to the meal.

![Panna cotta dessert layered with crushed Oreo cookies](https://img.superchart.com/images/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch-21-1102k-966.webp)

There's crushed Oreo cookies layered underneath, so it's sweet and so good 🥹. I think it's one of the perks of a course meal that dishes don't all arrive at once — you get to eat slowly, one dish at a time, while chatting. The server also explained each dish kindly and clearly!

## Why the second visit to Nansan-ri Restaurant was worth it

This second visit to this Seongsan, Jeju restaurant was just as satisfying. It was great for slowly eating dish by dish while chatting with a friend, and it left me feeling like I'd had a meal that was a bit different from my usual routine on Jeju.

![Interior view of Nansan-ri Restaurant](https://img.superchart.com/images/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch/nansanri-sikdang-seongsan-second-visit-lunch-24-hjk27-966.webp)

If you're in the Seongsan area looking for a special lunch for an anniversary, a date, or with a friend, it's worth booking a visit at least once. If you're searching for a Seongsan, Jeju course-meal restaurant, I'd recommend Nansan-ri Restaurant, where you can enjoy an unhurried meal inside the quiet village of Nansan-ri :)
