Robatayaki Sodam is located near Guro Digital Complex Station on the Kkalkkal-geori side, so it wasn't hard to find at all. The place is on the second floor, and even before going in I could already feel that Japanese izakaya atmosphere, which made me think it'd be a great spot for an evening visit! What I found especially fun was that from the counter seats you could watch the robatayaki grilling happen up close. I had booked the window seat for two. That day we ordered sashimi and a skewer platter at Robatayaki Sodam. Dipping each piece in soy sauce, the texture was good and I could really taste the fish itself! At izakayas, I usually prefer sashimi or grilled dishes over fried or heavily seasoned snacks — something I can slowly enjoy alongside my drink — and in that sense the sashimi really hit the spot for me ✨ ### The mixed skewer platter And then the skewer platter we ordered together! Several different kinds of skewers came out at once, so it was fun picking through and trying each one. If you're visiting with a group, it'd also be great since everyone can just grab whichever skewer they want haha. Above all, eating the skewers right while they were still hot definitely made a difference! You could really feel that subtle smoky char from being grilled over charcoal, and with so many varieties to try, the plates were getting emptied one by one before I knew it~ Sashimi felt cold and clean, while the skewers were warm with that smoky flavor, so ordering both together worked really well side by side. And what I realized that day — the portions were bigger than expected! It genuinely seemed like a solid spot for office workers around Guro Digital Complex to gather for after-work meetups or team dinners, and it also felt like a fine choice for hanging out with friends or going on a date over izakaya food. The menu isn't just skewers — there's also grilled fish, soups, and fried dishes, so I'd love to try other items next time.
