## In short

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu and Vietnamese wrap restaurant on the 3rd floor of G&G Plaza near Namwirye Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. After a trip to Starfield Wirye, this family dinner meant a half-spicy, half-clear broth, unlimited refills of self-bar minari (water dropwort) with beef samgyeop and beef mokshim, then kalguksu noodles, porridge and an affogato to finish. Not long ago I went to Starfield Wirye with my kid, and while figuring out what to eat for dinner, I found a Namwirye Station restaurant nearby and went for shabu-shabu. Looking for something good to eat with a kid, an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu spot where you can have as many vegetables and as much beef as you want caught my eye!

It's a place where you can enjoy shabu-shabu and Vietnamese wraps (wolnamssam) together, with unlimited beef refills too, so it was perfect for a family outing. Best of all, the space is spacious and clean, so it felt comfortable to visit with a kid. For anyone looking for a shabu-shabu restaurant in Wirye, here's my honest review of Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch 😋

## Where Dadam Shabu Shabu in Wirye is, and what it costs

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is located at 45 Wiryegwangjang-ro, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, 3rd floor Room 305, G&G Plaza, and free parking is available. Hours are Mon–Sun 11:00–21:00, last order at 20:00, with a break time Mon–Fri 16:00–17:00.

Shabu-shabu, wraps, and even beef are all unlimited refill, and the dining time limit is 120 minutes, which was enough to eat at a relaxed pace.

For weekday dinner, weekends and holidays, it's ₩21,900 for adults and middle schoolers and up, ₩13,900 for elementary 1–6, and ₩8,000 for preschoolers aged 4–7.

There's also a parking lot with plenty of space, so it was convenient to visit by car.

The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of the building.

Dining time is capped at 120 minutes, and since it's a self-bar system where you portion out only as much food as you'll eat, leaving food behind incurs a ₩5,000 environmental fee — worth keeping in mind!

## Inside Dadam Shabu Shabu: seating and whether it works with a child

The interior of Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch was clean and pleasant overall. The tables had generous spacing between them, and each seat had its own partition, so it felt comfortable eating without feeling too close to the next table. Since it's mostly 4-person tables, it was a fine space for a family outing with a kid or for a group visit.

## What's on the self-bar: vegetables, noodles and wrap ingredients

You can choose from seafood, spicy, or clear broth, and half-and-half is also an option. If the broth runs low while eating, you just refill it yourself from the self-bar.

At the self-bar, a variety of vegetables great for shabu-shabu were neatly arranged — napa cabbage, bean sprouts, bok choy, minari (water dropwort) and more. You could portion out however much you wanted of whatever you liked, and refill any vegetable you ran low on right away.

Beyond vegetables, there was a wide variety of add-ins good for shabu-shabu too — various mushrooms, fish cake, rice cake, dumplings, fried tofu. There was even kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), rice noodles and ramen noodles, so you could pick and mix whatever combination suited your taste.

Wrap ingredients were also laid out generously on one side. From colorful vegetables like cabbage, carrots and cucumber to bean sprouts, tofu and quail eggs, you could portion out as much as you wanted. Rice paper was also prepared separately at the self-bar, so you could make your own wraps alongside the shabu-shabu.

### Two cuts of beef: samgyeop and mokshim

There were two types of meat: beef samgyeop (thin-sliced belly) and beef mokshim (neck meat). Each had its characteristics explained, so it was easy to choose according to taste, and there was fun in trying both alternately. We brought both from the start and compared them as we ate.

There were also porridge ingredients prepared separately for finishing the meal. With rice, egg, roasted seaweed flakes, and sesame oil available, you could make a savory porridge with the leftover broth once done with the shabu-shabu.

A number of sauces to go with the shabu-shabu were also prepared. Peanut sauce, chili sauce, soy sauce and more — you could pick according to taste, and add toppings like chopped scallion or chili to make a sauce exactly to your liking.

After the meal, coffee and ice cream were available so we could enjoy dessert too. Adding coffee to ice cream lets you make something like an affogato, so the meal wrapped up nicely.

## How the half-spicy, half-clear broth tasted

Once we sat down, staff set the table with plates, cups, tongs, ladles, and water — everything we needed.

We chose half spicy broth and half clear broth. It was great being able to enjoy two flavors at once, and especially convenient for a family visit since our kid could eat from the clear broth while the adults had the spicy one!

![Pot of half-spicy, half-clear broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/dadam-shabu-wirye-minari-selfbar/dadam-shabu-wirye-minari-selfbar-19-aznt7-900.webp)

We portioned out napa cabbage, bean sprouts, bok choy, minari and mushrooms from the self-bar as much as we wanted to eat. There were so many kinds it was easy to pick according to taste, and rather than bringing too much at once, we kept refilling as we ate.

We also brought over a generous amount of meat. Since it was thinly sliced, it cooked quickly in the broth, and eaten together with the vegetables it was nice and tender. Since it was all-you-can-eat, being able to keep bringing more whenever we wanted was satisfying.

We portioned out sauces to taste too. We prepared soy sauce, peanut sauce and chili sauce, plus cheongyang chili peppers, and since the flavor changes with the sauce even with the same meat, it was fun to dip alternately.

We piled in plenty of vegetables, mushrooms and meat and let it simmer in the spicy and clear broths. The meat was thin so it cooked fast, and as the flavor from the vegetables seeped in, the broth got richer and more delicious. Being able to alternate between spicy and mild flavors made me glad we'd chosen the half-and-half broth.

### Why the minari at the self-bar stood out

I've been to plenty of all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu places, but I'd rarely seen one with minari at the self-bar, so I was glad Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch had plenty of it. I love minari, so I brought over a generous amount to add in — its fragrant aroma went so well with the broth that I kept refilling it.

## Eating the beef as Vietnamese rice paper wraps

We also portioned out ingredients for the wraps. Purple cabbage, cucumber, carrot, perilla leaves, pineapple — the colors were vibrant and the variety made it easy to combine to taste. Wrapping meat and vegetables generously in rice paper let us enjoy a different flavor from the shabu-shabu itself.

![Rice paper wrap filled with meat and vegetables](https://img.superchart.com/images/dadam-shabu-wirye-minari-selfbar/dadam-shabu-wirye-minari-selfbar-22-1961i-900.webp)

We piled cooked meat and various vegetables onto the rice paper and tried it as wraps. With crunchy vegetables plus meat, each bite was quite filling, and it let us enjoy more variety than shabu-shabu alone, making the meal even more satisfying.

We picked up well-cooked meat and vegetables together and added a touch of peanut sauce. The nutty peanut sauce went well with the meat and vegetables, and with the minari aroma on top, each mouthful was really good!

When the broth ran low, we could refill whichever broth we wanted right from the self-bar, which was convenient. Rather than stopping after one round, we refilled the broth, piled in more vegetables and meat, and simmered another round of shabu-shabu. Being all-you-can-eat, we definitely left full.

## Finishing with kalguksu noodles, porridge and an affogato

My kid ate the kalguksu the best. The noodles cooked up soft and came with bean sprouts and vegetables mixed in, so the bowl disappeared quickly.

And of course, we finished with porridge! Stirring rice, egg, and roasted seaweed flakes into the leftover broth made a savory porridge. Paired with the kimchi that came with it, my hand kept reaching for more even though I was already full haha.

After finishing the meal, my kid moved straight to ice cream dessert time! They honestly seemed more excited about the ice cream than the shabu-shabu haha. I added ice cream to my coffee and enjoyed it like an affogato.

## Is Dadam Shabu Shabu in Wirye worth it?

Looking for a Namwirye Station restaurant, we ended up at Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch, and it was a satisfying place where everything from meat to vegetables, wraps, kalguksu, porridge, and dessert was all-you-can-eat. There's a good variety of dishes that work well for kids, and parking is available, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a shabu-shabu restaurant in Wirye or a kid-friendly restaurant near Starfield Wirye — a solid Changgok-dong restaurant!
