## In short

Baek Sojeong Nambu Bus Terminal is a Japanese restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, serving tonkatsu and mazesoba near Nambu Bus Terminal Station. I tried the Cheese Katsu 4pcs for ₩13,500 and Karai Mazesoba + Tonkatsu for ₩16,500, finishing the spicy noodles with kelp vinegar and rice mixed into the leftover sauce. Verdict: a fun choice for anyone who wants to enjoy mazesoba in several ways.

When you look for lunch around Nambu Bus Terminal, there are more Japanese places serving things like tonkatsu and soba than you might expect, haha. This time, I visited Baek Sojeong Nambu Bus Terminal (백소정 남부터미널점), where you can enjoy Japanese-style tonkatsu and mazesoba together near Nambu Bus Terminal Station. The mazesoba was so good that I even followed the suggested eating method and enjoyed every bit of it, haha.

## A convenient Japanese lunch spot near Nambu Bus Terminal Station

If you are driving, there is space for one car to park for free in front of the restaurant, but it is very tight.. So you may need to use the building's paid parking lot—something to keep in mind if you are planning to drive.

Baek Sojeong Nambu Bus Terminal is about a four-minute walk from Exit 6 of Nambu Bus Terminal Station, so it was conveniently located for public transport too. It is also close to the Seoul Arts Center and International Electronics Center, so it seemed like a good place to stop for a meal after taking care of something nearby.

The interior was clean and neatly arranged overall, and the tables were not cramped together, making it comfortable for a meal.

I saw guests dining alone as well as pairs, so it looked like a perfectly good spot for a solo lunch too, haha. The menu included a variety of Japanese dishes, including tonkatsu, mazesoba, cold soba, curry, and udon.

They even provide mouthwash after your meal, which was such a thoughtful touch, haha.

## Cheese Katsu 4pcs: what comes with it and how it tastes

![Cheese Katsu 4pcs menu](https://img.superchart.com/images/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong-07-aente-900.webp)

The first item we ordered was the Cheese Katsu 4pcs!!

![Cheese Katsu with a crisp fried coating](https://img.superchart.com/images/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong-08-11tj9-900.webp)

The Cheese Katsu had a crisp fried coating, with cheese inside, so it was a dish where you could enjoy tonkatsu and cheese together.

With the first bite, I could taste the crunchy coating, tender meat, and nutty cheese all together. I think anyone who likes tonkatsu would enjoy it without any fuss. The cheese was not overly rich either, so it went nicely with the tonkatsu, haha.

The salad dressing was tasty too, and a small udon came with it, which was so nice alongside the Cheese Katsu!!

They also served rice cake as a final palate cleanser, so I thought the set was really well put together, haha.

## How to enjoy karai mazesoba deliciously

![Karai mazesoba and tonkatsu menu](https://img.superchart.com/images/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong-14-m6hy1-814.webp)

And the dish I enjoyed most that day was the Karai Mazesoba + Tonkatsu!!

![Mazesoba with various ingredients and seasonings](https://img.superchart.com/images/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong-15-1x4b4-833.webp)

Mazesoba is a dish of noodles thoroughly mixed with various ingredients and seasonings.

![Mazesoba mixed with its sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong-16-10nam-838.webp)

When I mixed the sauce in well from the start, it coated the noodles evenly, bringing both savory umami and a spicy kick.

![Karai mazesoba with umami and a spicy kick](https://img.superchart.com/images/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong-17-1ibq3-838.webp)

Since ours was karai mazesoba, it had a little heat, but that actually kept it from feeling greasy and made me want to keep eating.

![Instructions for eating mazesoba written on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong-18-16r3x-668.webp)

Personally, if it is your first time trying mazesoba or you are not sure how to eat it, I recommend following the instructions for enjoying it that are written on the table.

![Rice mixed into leftover mazesoba sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong-19-d1t91-900.webp)

Following the method written on the table, we mixed rice into the leftover sauce!!

It felt different from eating it with noodles, and because the sauce itself was so tasty, it went wonderfully with rice too. Rather than throwing away the sauce left after finishing the noodles, mixing it with rice meant we could enjoy it deliciously right to the end, haha.

![Crisp tonkatsu served with mazesoba](https://img.superchart.com/images/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong/nambu-terminal-maze-soba-baeksojeong-21-o6zr3-900.webp)

The tonkatsu that came with the mazesoba was nicely crisp as well, so it was good to alternate bites with the noodles.

Some parts were a little overcooked, but somehow that seemed to suit the mazesoba too, haha. I enjoyed the tonkatsu as well!!

## Mazesoba enjoyed to the end with kelp vinegar and rice

Overall, Baek Sojeong Nambu Bus Terminal was a good place to visit when you want tonkatsu and mazesoba together. Of everything we ate that day, the karai mazesoba stayed with me the most!! Rather than simply eating the noodles, you can add kelp vinegar when about one-third remains to change up the flavor, then mix rice into the leftover sauce after you finish the noodles. It was fun getting to enjoy it in several different ways, haha.

If you are looking for lunch near Nambu Bus Terminal Station, or Japanese food near the Seoul Arts Center or International Electronics Center, I recommend trying the crisp tonkatsu and spicy mazesoba at Baek Sojeong Nambu Bus Terminal!!
