## In short

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is a Korean snack restaurant (bunsik) on basement level 2 of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul. Looking for a quick bite after shopping at The Hyundai Seoul, the writer ordered the Hyeonseon-i Set and got tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), fried snacks, gimbap (seaweed rice roll) and sundae (Korean blood sausage) in one go, while a screen in the shop told the story of the brand's 20 years since it began as a street cart in 2004. A reliable stop when you want a light, no-fuss meal inside the mall.

A review of the Hyeonseon-i Set at Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, a bunsik (Korean snack food) spot near The Hyundai Seoul

I was at The Hyundai Seoul and looking for somewhere simple to eat, so I stopped by Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch.

I get cravings for bunsik sometimes, and one nice thing about it is being able to eat several things at once — tteokbokki, gimbap, fried snacks. Rather than ordering separately this time, I went with the Hyeonseon-i Set.

## Inside the IFC Mall shop and the screen on 20 years since 2004

Since Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is located inside IFC Mall, it's convenient to drop by whenever you're shopping or running errands nearby.

As you can see in the photo, there's a big red sign out front, so it catches your eye even from a distance. The name 'Hyeonseonine Tteokbokki' appears alongside a character, giving it that friendly bunsik-shop feel.

The inside was clean. There are tables and chairs so you can eat in the store, and it didn't feel like too much of an ask to eat alone there.

One side of the store had a screen introducing Hyeonseonine's history. According to the photos, it started as a street cart in 2004 and has continued for 20 years. It wasn't just a newly opened franchise bunsik shop — that long history with tteokbokki really stood out to me.

## What comes in the Hyeonseon-i Set? Tteokbokki, fried snacks, gimbap, sundae

The Hyeonseon-i Set is built around tteokbokki, with fried snacks, gimbap, and sundae all served together so you can try several bunsik items at once.

### Wheat rice cake tteokbokki with plenty of broth

The first thing that catches your eye is, of course, the tteokbokki.

As the photo shows, there's quite a generous amount of broth, with a fair amount of rice cake too. The color is pretty intensely red, but it's less relentlessly spicy than it looks — more of a sweet-and-spicy bunsik-shop style tteokbokki.

The rice cakes had that soft, chewy texture typical of milddeok (wheat rice cakes), so the sauce soaked in well. The broth was also good for dipping the rice cakes in or eating alongside other dishes.

### Shrimp and vegetable fried snacks

And no bunsik meal is complete without fried snacks.

There were shrimp and various vegetable fritters, and dipping them in the tteokbokki broth worked really well, as expected. Fried snacks alone can get a bit greasy, but eating them with the sweet-spicy tteokbokki made it much better.

### Gimbap and sundae in the set

The gimbap (seaweed rice roll) was a classic bunsik-shop style with several fillings. It had egg and vegetables inside, and went well with the tteokbokki broth.

![Bunsik-shop gimbap with egg and vegetables](https://img.superchart.com/images/ifc-mall-tteokbokki-hyunsunine-set/ifc-mall-tteokbokki-hyunsunine-set-14-qm7lu-900.webp)

Lastly, sundae came along too — sundae is another dish that pairs well with tteokbokki.

![Sundae served alongside the tteokbokki](https://img.superchart.com/images/ifc-mall-tteokbokki-hyunsunine-set/ifc-mall-tteokbokki-hyunsunine-set-15-1cr0w-900.webp)

Alternating between tteokbokki, gimbap, fried snacks, and sundae definitely felt less repetitive than sticking to just one dish.

## Is the Hyeonseon-i Set enough for one person?

Overall, the biggest advantage of the Hyeonseon-i Set is being able to eat everything you'd want from a bunsik shop in one go.

Tteokbokki alone feels a bit lacking, gimbap alone is a bit plain, and ordering fried snacks separately adds too many items — but with the set, you get to taste a little of everything. Looking back at the photos, the portion looked pretty generous, quite filling for one person, and it also seemed fine for two people to share lightly.

Especially these days, when you need to grab a meal inside a mall, sometimes you crave something lighter than a heavy meal — tteokbokki, gimbap, fried snacks — and this place suited that mood well. Overall it was a bunsik restaurant where you could comfortably enjoy tteokbokki alongside gimbap, fried snacks, and sundae.

If you're shopping around The Hyundai Seoul or IFC Mall and get a bit hungry, and want something easy rather than a big meal, this is worth a stop.

I tried several dishes at once with the Hyeonseon-i Set that day, and personally, dipping fried snacks into the tteokbokki was still my favorite combo. If you like bunsik, this set is worth trying at least once.

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch, found while searching for good eats near The Hyundai! Eating tteokbokki, gimbap, sundae, and fried snacks together was satisfying and filling. The sweet-spicy tteokbokki with crispy fried snacks dipped in was especially good. Worth a visit when you're craving tteokbokki in Yeouido, and a good pick for a simple meal inside IFC Mall.
