That must be why it operates out of its own standalone building. The Bueokgan Chinese we visited is on the first floor, while Bueokgan European restaurant runs on the second. Looking at the sleek interior alone, I actually second-guessed myself for a second — is this really a Chinese restaurant, or a Western one? Hahahaha. The spacing between tables was generous, so it felt relaxed rather than cramped. Turns out this lighting is George Nelson's bubble lamp. You crack the poached egg right on top and mix it all together with the jjajang sauce! As you can tell just from the photo, it's really generous with the beef belly. Probably because there's so much meat in it, the broth was incredibly rich and deep 🤤 If you're someone who prefers rice over noodles, I bet this broth would be amazing poured over rice too! And honestly... this is exactly the kind of thing you crave on a rainy day! I'm not great with very sour flavors, so personally I really liked this sauce! The crispy fried pork loin coated generously in sauce, eaten together with onion, was seriously delicious~! ## Is Bueokgan Chinese good for a date, family dinner or group meal? I was curious about this place because of the pretty atmosphere, and after actually visiting, the food was satisfying too. Most of all, I liked that the mood felt so different from a typical Chinese restaurant, which makes it a great pick for a date or a family meal. And since they take group reservations, it would also work well for club gatherings or alumni get-togethers.
