New restaurants keep popping up in Seosan lately, and this time it's a fresh one — opened September 17! I went to Seosan Jonghap Eosijang, newly opened in Yecheon-dong, Seosan 🐟🦐

The menu ranges from flounder+rockfish sashimi platters to seafood, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), and fried dishes, and with a private parking lot and baby chairs on hand, it looked solid for a family outing too :)

We ordered a flounder+rockfish sashimi platter along with fish bone spicy stew and fried king shrimp, and ate it all up 👏 Even though it had been open less than a week, it already had quite a few customers — here's my review of Seosan Jonghap Eosijang, a seafood spot in Yecheon-dong, Seosan 💓

There's a private parking lot right behind the building like this! The building next door is still empty so there was plenty of parking :)

## Inside Seosan Jonghap Eosijang: seating and atmosphere

Seosan Jonghap Eosijang had more tables inside than I expected! The space was quite spacious, so it looked good for groups, families, or gatherings alike 👍

We visited pretty early, and even then tables were fairly full — after that, reserved seats and walk-in customers filled up in no time! It only opened on September 17, less than a week before our visit, and it's already this popular ✨

There's a restroom inside too, and of course baby chairs were ready and waiting 💓

## The menu: live sashimi sets to lunch specials

The menu had a wide range: live fish sashimi, mixed sashimi platters, sekkoshi (thin-sliced small fish sashimi), seafood, mulhoe, fried dishes, and side dishes! Since they open from 11am, they even had lunch specials like kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), grilled mackerel, mulhoe, and pollack roe soup 👍

Other seasonal menu items could be checked via posters and extra paper menus like this :) Items not on the main menu — salt-grilled shrimp, raw shrimp, grilled jeon (flatfish), and gizzard shad sashimi — were also available as seasonal specials!

Today we ordered a flounder+rockfish sashimi platter, fish bone spicy stew, and 5 pieces of fried king shrimp 👏👏

The basic setting at Seosan Jonghap Eosijang included lettuce wraps, seaweed soup, makjang, and corn salad, and they told us to get extra side dishes from the self-serve bar ourselves

Off to check out the self-serve bar! From tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and fish cutlets to garlic, chili, kimchi, and seaweed soup — you could just grab whatever side dishes you needed haha

Chojang (vinegar-chili sauce) and sashimi soy sauce were already set on the table, and for wasabi you either use the bit that comes with the sashimi or grab more from the self-serve bar!

Soju-and-beer mix is a must with sashimi — well, not quite, settling for just beer again today 🥲

## How was the small flounder and rockfish sashimi set?

And here comes the main dish! The classic combo you can't skip when it comes to sashimi — the small flounder+rockfish set!

As a lettuce-wrap lover, I ate some wrapped and some plain~~~

Partway through, we also ordered the fish bone spicy stew and fried shrimp >< Each of us picked our own side dish, haha

The fried shrimp came with tartar sauce, and the shrimp meat was plump and had a great bite to it! 👍

And now for my personal favorite — the spicy stew...💓 They added chopped cheongyang chili and garlic to the pot for us haha. We even dipped the leftover sashimi into the stew, no shame here haha

I genuinely could've gone for one more bottle just with the stew... but for the kid's sake, mom called it quits after one beer and headed home 🥲

## Is Seosan Jonghap Eosijang worth a family dinner?

Seosan Jonghap Eosijang was a solid spot to stop by when you want sashimi, seafood, and a drink in Seosan 🐟💓

- ✔️ A clean, satisfying meal with the flounder+rockfish sashimi platter
- ✔️ Fried king shrimp with plump, tasty shrimp meat
- ✔️ Fish bone spicy stew, spicy enough that we kept going back for more till the end
- ✔️ Self-serve bar where you can easily grab your own side dishes
- ✔️ Convenient parking with the private lot
- ✔️ Baby chairs available, so it works for family outings too

The fish bone spicy stew we had at the end was my personal favorite 😂 With extra cheongyang chili and garlic, it was exactly my kind of spicy — my style! I really could've gone for one more bottle while eating that stew... guess I'll save it for next time ㅠ_ㅠ

Since it just opened recently, it feels like it's only going to get busier ✨ If you enjoy going all out with sashimi and spicy stew like we did, Seosan Jonghap Eosijang in Yecheon-dong, Seosan is worth a visit :) Thanks for the meal today 👏👏
