It was my partner's birthday, and while I was trying to decide on a cake, I figured we should get a seasonal fruit cake this year 🍰 Figs happened to be in season, so I went looking for a fig cake and found this place famous for seasonal fruit cakes — Siznique 🙌🏻

## Early September lineup and the Friday afternoon display

When I visited in early September, three fruits were out as cakes: fig, mango, and peach. Cute number candles were also for sale, and basic candles come free with any cake purchase 🎂

I visited around 3pm on a Friday, and looking at the display case, mango cakes were the most numerous, followed by peach, then fig!

## Siznique cake types and prices

The Warreu series is Siznique's signature menu! Mango Farm Warreu, Peach Farm Warreu, and Fig Farm Warreu are all ₩60,000. Apparently, once winter comes, strawberry shows up too, and that strawberry cake is said to be Siznique's flagship item!

Mango Cream Basque and Peach Cream Basque are ₩29,000. These cream basque cakes looked really good too, but there wasn't a fig version — not sure if it just doesn't exist or was sold out 😅

Floral Peach (size 1) ₩48,000. They add yogurt cream to the milk fresh cream base. Milk fresh cream + yogurt cream + peach = ultimate deliciousness combo.

### Choosing the Honey Vanilla Fig mini size

Honey Vanilla Fig (size 1) ₩49,000, Honey Vanilla Fig (mini) ₩35,000. What I chose was the Honey Vanilla Fig mini size! Soft fresh cream topped generously with honey and figs. Fig is a September-only menu item, so keep that in mind~! I mentioned it wouldn't take an hour to get home, so they added two small basic ice packs 👍🏻

## How the Honey Vanilla Fig cake tastes

When I opened the box, the visual was seriously insane 😇 Gorgeous-looking figs were piled generously on top of the cake, with 3 tangy-sweet blueberries dotted in 🫐 On top of that, there was even a nutty, crunchy crumble topping sprinkled over it.

Taking a bite, the fig's characteristic mild sweetness and the crunchy texture of its tiny seeds really came through! It wasn't overly sweet, and the fig's natural flavor stayed alive, so I kept eating without getting sick of it haha. The fresh cream in particular was really delicious! It melted the moment it hit my mouth, with a soft texture, and the cream wasn't greasy but sweet, so I kept scooping big spoonfuls 😋

## What seasonal fruit next time?

As they say, a cake that looks good tastes good too — from the moment I was choosing which one to get, it was fun just browsing, and this cake spot, Siznique, delivered on taste as well. Beyond fig, mango, and peach, they roll out all kinds of fruit cakes through the seasons — strawberry, red hyang, melon, pineapple, watermelon, and more — so I'm already curious what fruit will show up next.
