It may be true anywhere, but I think Hwangridan-gil is especially lovely in autumn and on a weekday afternoon. I was so happy to find a great Korean restaurant in Gyeongju. Dongyang Baekban (동양백반) somehow made me feel like I was visiting my maternal grandparents' home! We tried the medium dakbokkeumtang (spicy braised chicken) and gondre namulbap (rice with Korean thistle greens). A basic bowl of plain rice is not included. These days, I really appreciate restaurants with easy payment options. I got ₩10,000, but I couldn't receive it because I used Super Members ㅠ It was second prize, so it felt like such a shame. I even wished I had transferred it to another guest through TOSS instead.. haha Still! I liked the bean sprouts and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) best, hehe. Best of all, the gondre rice came alongside them and was so tasty. Everything was clean-tasting, like food Grandma would make! I also liked that it wasn't too salty. Recommended for anyone who likes gondre greens! A whole bowl of rice plus greens! It was plentiful and I was so satisfied. I also really liked that it came with a boiled egg as a topping, hehe haha. Chicken and vegetables together. Even the glass noodles were so good! It wasn't very spicy—less intense, yet with a soft, easy-to-swallow feel, haha. Since it was boneless, I thought this dakbokkeumtang would be especially great for couples too, haha!!
