After shopping with my family at Seongseo Moda Outlet, we went to Sin Yeongung Cheonggukjang Haemulttukbaegi Seongseo Moda Outlet branch (신영웅청국장해물뚝배기 성서모다아울렛점) for lunch. I was curious about its ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) with seafood and cheonggukjang, and we also ordered haemul-jjim (braised spicy seafood) to share.

## Where can I park if I drive?

There was space for about five cars in front of the restaurant. The rear connects to Horim 2 Public Parking Lot, so we could use it if the spaces in front were full.

At the time of my visit, the public parking lot offered one free hour; I simply gave my vehicle number when paying. The posted rate after one hour was ₩100 per 10 minutes, with a daily maximum of ₩2,000.

## What is the seating like for a family meal?

The interior was more spacious than I expected, with a calm atmosphere created by its consistent wood tones. The staff gave us a kind welcome, too.

Most tables were well spaced and separated by partitions, which made our family meal feel comfortable. There were three private rooms, and I heard the restaurant can accommodate groups of up to 40 people. There was also seating for solo diners along one side.

The self-service bar was kept clean, and I saw staff checking on it from time to time. There was also a coffee machine that diners could use for free after their meal.

## What did four people order, and how much was it?

The menu included ttukbaegi-based individual meals and haemul-jjim, which is good for sharing among several people.

We ordered medium haemul-jjim, one cheonggukjang seafood ttukbaegi, and bowls of rice. At the time of our visit, medium haemul-jjim was ₩49,000 and the cheonggukjang seafood ttukbaegi was ₩17,000. The original order record listed the rice as ₩4,000, but did not record the quantity separately.

The four basic side dishes were stir-fried fish cake, seasoned cucumber peppers, seokbakji (cubed radish kimchi), and a European-style salad. They tasted clean and straightforward.

## Does the cheonggukjang seafood ttukbaegi smell strong?

The cheonggukjang seafood ttukbaegi arrived bubbling, with a savory aroma. It contained nine kinds of seafood, including blue crab, abalone, shrimp, mussels, and scallops. I had not expected much from the seafood, but its generous size and plump flesh stood out.

I could barely notice cheonggukjang's characteristic strong smell, while the broth had a deep, rich flavor. Even my younger sibling, who does not usually like cheonggukjang, enjoyed it.

## Will medium haemul-jjim and a ttukbaegi fill four people?

While we were eating the ttukbaegi, the haemul-jjim arrived, and a staff member briefly cut up the octopus and squid for us. Even in the medium size, it felt plentiful. Four of us, including two big eaters, were full after sharing the haemul-jjim, ttukbaegi, and rice.

The haemul-jjim contained peanut powder. Its nutty flavor went well with the sweet-spicy seasoning. If you have a nut allergy, please tell the staff before ordering.

There was a generous variety of seafood, so it was fun choosing what to eat. Some haemul-jjim I had eaten before had an unusually large amount of bean sprouts or mostly crab and shrimp that were inconvenient to prepare, but I liked this seafood selection.

The octopus legs were chewy without being tough or fishy.

I liked the seasoning, so I mixed rice into it as well. Although I had meant to eat only a little, I ended up finishing a whole bowl.

## Would I return for another family meal?

For my family, the combination of medium haemul-jjim and one cheonggukjang seafood ttukbaegi worked well. We ate comfortably at a partitioned table, and because we enjoyed the food, I would consider returning.
