Now that the weather's warming up, I've been craving BBQ outdoors with that camping vibe instead of just eating meat at a regular restaurant!!!! 🏕️🥩

But you know how packing camping gear, pitching a tent, and cleaning it all up afterward is such a hassle,,lol. So this time I want to introduce Palkkongi, located at Palgongsan in Gunwi County, where you can go empty-handed and still enjoy that camping mood~~!

It really doesn't feel like a typical meat restaurant — more like you've actually arrived at a campsite, so from the moment I walked in I was like, "Okay, we're really doing this today...?" lol

Best of all, since it's nestled in nature, if you visit on a nice day you get the lush green scenery of Palgongsan along with your meal💚

## Getting there and parking

There's something to watch out for when heading here!!!

🚗 Coming from Daegu toward Gunwi, pass through Palgong Tunnel, take the first right, then follow the signs for Palkkongi.

🚨 For navigation, they recommend searching 'Namsan-ri 1139-14, Bugye-myeon, Gunwi-gun, Daegu' :)

Once you arrive, park near the Palkkongi sign along the main road, or in front of the store🚗

## How does Palkkongi work, and what do you need to bring?

On your first visit you might think, "Wait, how does this place actually work?" haha but it's simpler than you'd expect! After your reservation, you check in, pick out whatever meat and food you want at the store, then head to your assigned tent and grill it yourself over charcoal🔥

Just pick what you want to eat and enjoy the camping mood — that's the whole system haha. So for someone like me who loves the camping vibe but hates dealing with equipment, this is seriously perfect,,,(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)💚

One thing I really liked about Palkkongi is how many different spaces there are for kids to play!

There's a sandbox, a trampoline, a merry-go-round swing, ring toss, hula hoops, board games, and more!

Kids get to run around and have fun while the adults relax next to them eating meat lol

Especially when you're dining out with kids, they often get bored halfway through the meal — but here, since there's a play space built right in, it seemed like a really good spot for family visits👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💚

### Where are the restrooms?

Restrooms are always a bit of a concern at outdoor camping restaurants🥹 At Palkkongi, they're located in the basement level of the store, so it was easy to use :)

## Trying the Meokping 1 seat with 3 people

We used the Meokping 1 seat with 3 people!

There's a table and chairs already set up inside the tent, so you don't need to bring any camping gear — literally the campnic feeling of showing up empty-handed and just grilling meat,,.𖥔 ݁

The tent is designed to be usable even on rainy or snowy days, with a heater for cold weather and AC for hot weather, so you're not too limited by season.

It's honestly stressful when you set a camping date and then it gets rained out🥹 Here, that worry is much smaller — a big plus!

At Palkkongi you don't need to bring your own groceries — you can buy everything from meat to drinks and alcohol at the store haha

They had a wide range from BBQ meats like samgyeopsal and moksal to sides like sausage, ramyeon, and kimchi🥩🔥 Each meat pack shows its weight and price, so you can pick the cut you want after seeing it directly! Between the three of us, we chose 1 pack of samgyeopsal + 1 pack of moksal and grilled it up properly🤤🤎

The fridge was stocked with soju, beer, and various drinks including cola, so it was easy to pick whatever suited our taste ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ )✧

You can also borrow various board games for free, which was great to enjoy together while resting after eating🎲🤎

The self-service bar was also neatly organized, so we could easily grab whatever we needed for the BBQ haha

You just grab as much as you need yourself, which is convenient — and if you run out of something mid-meokping, you can just pop back and grab more, so being able to visit with basically nothing was so nice ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ )✧ 🏕️🤎

We picked exactly what you want to eat while camping lolololol. It's not really camping if you just eat meat alone — you've got to grill sausage and kimchi too and finish it off boiling ramyeon,,,🤤🤎

## How was the charcoal-grilled samgyeopsal and moksal?

Finally, charcoal's up and it's time to really start grilling!!!!

Meat grilled outdoors over charcoal really is a different experience from eating at a regular restaurant🔥 The samgyeopsal turned golden brown, sizzling with fat, and with that charcoal smokiness added in, it was seriously good,,🤤

The moksal was grilled thick, so it had a great chewy bite too!

Grilling it ourselves while chatting away surrounded by trees made it about more than just the taste — it made me want to come back for the atmosphere too,,💚 BBQ really is the crown jewel of camping lol

We could make as many wraps as we wanted, which was so nice,,💚

Grilling garlic and kimchi together in the meat's fat and eating it all in one bite — that's a dream combo🤤🤎 The savory-salty mix meant the meat kept disappearing lol

### Ramyeon to finish off the camping

After eating a good amount of meat, we properly boiled up 2 packs of ramyeon🍜

Why does ramyeon eaten outdoors taste so much better lolol. Right when the meat starts feeling a bit heavy, a bite of hot, spicy ramyeon cleans your palate right up!

Especially grilling meat by the charcoal and then slurping down a sip of ramyeon broth in between... that's the real happiness of meokping,,🥺💚

## A walk to the valley and hydrangea path after eating

If you've eaten well, don't head straight home — look around a bit! The scenery around Palkkongi blends in nicely with nature, and there's space to stroll, so it's a great spot for a light walk after your meal🌿

There's also a valley and hydrangeas nearby, so timing your visit with the right season adds even more to see!

## Weekend night campfire events

And Palkkongi isn't just about eating BBQ — on the third session of weekends and holidays, they run events like a firefly show, campfire, and fireworks🔥

Especially at night, with the campfire added in, a completely different camping mood comes alive compared to daytime✨ During the day you can enjoy the pine forest and scenery, and at night you can enjoy the atmosphere by the fire, so

That's my review of Palkkongi, the BBQ spot at Palgongsan! We visited with my parents and enjoyed everything from meat to ramyeon haha — with play facilities, a walking path, and a campfire at night, it was a camping restaurant great for both eating and playing🏕️🔥

I highly recommend Palkkongi to anyone looking for a camping restaurant near Palgongsan, Daegu, where you can comfortably enjoy BBQ without any camping gear!! ദ്ദി(៸៸›ᴗ‹៸៸ )💚
