## In short

Ryusenso Beomeo Branch is a Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen restaurant about 400m from Suseong-gu Office Station in Daegu. A couple visited for lunch to try the classic Ryusenso ramen, level-2 spicy Kara ramen, and tori karaage, adding minced garlic and extra broth along the way. There's no dedicated parking, so you'll need a public lot, but the long counter seating by the window makes it a solid solo-dining spot too.

My husband and I suddenly had a craving for rich Japanese ramen, so while looking for good restaurants near Suseong-gu Office we ended up at Ryusenso Beomeo Branch (류센소 범어점). The counter seating looked well set up too, so it seems like a good option for anyone looking for a lunch or solo-dining spot around Suseong-gu Office. Let me quickly walk through what we ordered and the parking info :)

## Location and parking info for Ryusenso Beomeo

Ryusenso Beomeo Branch is about 400m from Suseong-gu Office Station, right at the start of the street where restaurants near Suseong-gu Office cluster together, so it wasn't hard to find.

There's no dedicated parking lot, though. If you're driving, you can use one of the public lots below!

- ✔️Beomeo Market public parking
- ✔️Roadside public parking around Dalgubeol-daero
- ✔️Suseong-gu Office parking (free after 18:00 on weekdays, free all day on weekends)

That said, this area is packed with academies and restaurants, so parking isn't exactly relaxed overall. Public transit is recommended if possible!

## Counter seating good for solo dining, and the interior vibe

The interior was cleaner and cozier than I expected.

There are 4-person tables, but there's also a long counter (dachi) seat by the window, which looked great for solo visits! Probably because there are a lot of academies nearby, I actually saw quite a few people eating alone. A single bowl of ramen felt totally low-pressure to enjoy solo, so this seems like a great match for anyone looking for a solo-dining spot near Suseong-gu Office.😀

## The Ryusenso menu: four types of ramen

Ryusenso has four main ramen types: Ryusenso (Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen), Ryusenso Kara (spicy tonkotsu ramen), Asari ramen (soy-based ramen with clam broth), and Ebi Miso ramen (miso ramen with shrimp broth).

There were also rice dishes like katsudon (pork cutlet rice bowl) and ebidon (shrimp rice bowl), but unfortunately both were sold out the day we visited. They also had highballs and draft beer, and I thought a cold beer with ramen would've been amazing, but I had plans afterward so I held off ^_ㅠ

## What we ordered as a couple, and the prices

We ordered one Ryusenso ramen, one Ryusenso Kara, and tori karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken).

### Ryusenso Kara ramen (₩11,000), spice level 2

Ryusenso Kara ramen is the spicy tonkotsu version. You can choose spice level 1 to 3, and since level 1 is apparently about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, we went with level 2.

![Ryusenso Kara ramen ordered at spice level 2](https://img.superchart.com/images/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch-11-672n9-1200.webp)

![Chashu and toppings on the Kara ramen](https://img.superchart.com/images/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch-13-o6gis-830.webp)

![Reddish tonkotsu broth of the Kara ramen](https://img.superchart.com/images/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch-14-i1ock-900.webp)

It wasn't tongue-burning spicy so much as a nice kick of heat added to the rich tonkotsu broth, so it kept going down without feeling heavy. Unless you're really sensitive to spice, I'd recommend level 2.

![Lifting up the firm ramen noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch-15-ch055-900.webp)

The noodles weren't the soft, overcooked style — they had a slightly firm bite, which I liked, and the soft-boiled egg soaked in the broth was delicious too.

![Kara ramen broth with added minced garlic](https://img.superchart.com/images/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch-17-1id4v-900.webp)

And partway through eating, I added minced garlic! I enjoyed the base broth flavor first, then added minced garlic once I was about halfway through, and it made the flavor even richer — so good!!!! If the seasoning starts to feel too strong, you can also ask for extra broth, so keep that in mind.

![The basic Ryusenso ramen on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch-18-1wg2g-900.webp)

### Ryusenso ramen (₩11,000), the classic tonkotsu

The basic Ryusenso feels like the textbook definition of tonkotsu ramen.

![Pale pork bone broth of the Ryusenso tonkotsu ramen](https://img.superchart.com/images/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch-19-cho04-900.webp)

It's the familiar combo of pale, rich pork bone broth with chashu (braised pork), egg, and noodles, so if you're not great with spice, the basic Ryusenso will probably suit you better.

![Crispy fried tori karaage](https://img.superchart.com/images/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch-20-xg1rv-900.webp)

### Tori karaage (₩8,000) and tartar sauce

For a side, I'd recommend the tori karaage! Crispy on the outside, but the chicken inside was very tender and juicy, which paired well with the rich ramen.

![Karaage served with two dipping sauces](https://img.superchart.com/images/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch/ryusenso-beomeo-tonkotsu-ramen-lunch-21-sgtfk-900.webp)

It comes with two dipping sauces, and personally I liked dipping it in the creamy tartar sauce best. If ramen alone feels like a little too little, I'd recommend adding a karaage to share :)

## To sum up

This was a solid restaurant near Suseong-gu Office to visit whenever you're craving rich tonkotsu ramen. I especially liked that there's plenty of counter seating for easy solo lunches, and that you can choose from classic tonkotsu to spicy Kara ramen depending on your taste. If you like rich, kick-of-heat Japanese ramen, Ryusenso Beomeo Branch is worth a visit.
