A couple walked over around 1pm for a late lunch and ordered Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap, Hamheung-style naengmyeon (cold noodles) and Taegyeongok's half-and-half dumplings, and the bibimbap came with a bowl of beef soup. It was set up with a variety of table sizes, from bar-style seats good for solo dining to big tables for groups! My wife (Jin) and I arrived a bit late, around 1pm, walking in. So we ordered the Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap, Hamheung naengmyeon, and Taegyeongok half-and-half dumplings. Besides the meal dishes, there was also a nice variety of traditional Korean liquors! Traditional liquor with Korean food — wouldn't that pair really well?? They were also running a Naver review event giving out 3 extra pieces of dumplings! Every side dish had a clean flavor that really got the appetite going! It made me even more excited for the main dishes! Ordering the yukhoe bibimbap also got us a beef soup on the side. The main dishes finally arrived! First up, the Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap. Doesn't it look amazing just from the photo?? It came with fresh, tender yukhoe and seasonal vegetables — I'm not a fan of veggies so I honestly don't know exactly what they all were, but the aroma and texture blended really well with the yukhoe, and I loved it...! The sauce in the bibimbap wasn't too strong or too mild, pairing perfectly with the rice and yukhoe!! Second was the Hamheung naengmyeon. This summer was really hot, but I feel like I never had a proper naengmyeon — just the kind you get as a side after grilled meat... Now that it's starting to cool down, I finally had a real naengmyeon haha. The rich meat broth mixed with the spicy sauce was really delicious. It was still a little warm during the day, so gulping it down washed all the heat away. These dumplings were seriously the real deal. Ordering the half-and-half got us 3 pieces of meat dumplings and 3 pieces of kimchi dumplings — big in size and packed full of filling, really delicious. Personally, I liked the kimchi dumplings more haha. They paired perfectly with the naengmyeon~ ## Final verdict on Taegyeongok That's how we filled up on a satisfying lunch at Taegyeongok. As a new restaurant, it served trendy, tasty Korean food!! Why not try a hearty, healthy Korean meal for yourself??
