Today's story is about a visit to Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu after hearing they'd added dak hanmari (whole chicken hot pot) as a new menu item. We ordered the dak hanmari set and tried it out.

## Where is Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu, and where do you park?

Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu is on the 2nd floor of a building at 79-1 Deuran-ro, Suseong-gu, Daegu. There's a big sign on the building's exterior, so it was easy to spot from a distance.

There's a dedicated Golmok Naengmyeon parking lot right below the building, which made it convenient to visit by car.

If the dedicated lot is full, signs say you can also use the nearby Dongsin Chamchi or Babambba parking lots. Just note those are only available from 11am to 3pm, so keep that in mind if you're visiting around lunchtime.

Golmok Naengmyeon is on the 2nd floor, and the store entrance is right there once you climb the stairs.

On the wall near the entrance, there were several signed photos from past visitors on display, which caught my eye.

The interior was bigger than I expected, with tables spaced out comfortably. There was also a separate group seating area further inside with a long table, which looked great for larger parties. It seemed like a good spot for a family meal or group gathering.

You can add kalguksu noodle refills, porridge rice, or dessert naengmyeon. There were also plenty of meal options like mul naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon, kalguksu, and mandu-guk (dumpling soup), plus sides like suyuk (boiled pork), hand-made mandu, and potato pancake. Drinks and alcohol could also be ordered from the tablet.

## What is on the self-serve bar?

There's a separate self-serve bar set up on one side of Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu. You could freely help yourself to side dishes and sauces including cheongyang chili peppers, spicy kimchi, naengmyeon radish, minced cheongyang chili, peanut sauce, and sweet chili sauce.

There were also self-serve aprons hanging nearby, handy to grab whenever needed.

## What comes in the dak hanmari set, and how do you eat it?

We ordered the dak hanmari set (2-3 people, ₩34,000). It came with dak hanmari and vegetables, plus 200g of kalguksu noodles and 2 dumplings.

There was guidance on the order of eating and sauce combinations. You could add minced cheongyang chili to the noodles for a spicier kick, or finish it off by adding porridge rice at the end.

### The table setting when the hot pot arrives

After ordering, they set up a burner, small plates, kimchi, and dadaegi (spicy chili paste) on the table. Since you cook it yourself right at the table, you get to enjoy it hot throughout the meal.

On the table there was soy sauce, vinegar, spicy chili powder, and mustard ready to go. Instructions said to dip vegetables in the soy sauce and chicken in the dadaegi. We also grabbed peanut sauce and chili sauce from the self-serve bar to go with it haha.

A staff member poured broth into the pot with the chicken. Rice cakes and potatoes went in too, and then you add the vegetables and mushrooms and cook it all together.

The dak hanmari I'd had in Seoul before was more chicken-focused, but the dak hanmari at Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu was loaded with vegetables, so it felt more like eating shabu-shabu. Cabbage, mung bean sprouts, green onion, and mushrooms filled the pot, so it was great for scooping up vegetables along with the chicken haha.

They also gave us a 10-minute hourglass, so we waited until the sand ran out before digging in.

The rice cakes and vegetables cooked quickly, so we scooped those out first.

### Kalguksu noodles and dumplings in the broth

When we were ready for the kalguksu and dumplings included in the set, we asked staff and they brought them over. Eating the noodles and dumplings on top of everything else left the two of us really full.

I wanted to try the porridge rice too, but we were too full to manage it. I think it would work better with three people.

## Restrooms and paying the bill

The restrooms were separated by gender, and individually wrapped mouthwash was available inside.

At the checkout counter there were candies and individually wrapped dental floss too. From mouthwash to floss, having those post-meal essentials ready felt surprisingly thoughtful haha.

## Is Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu worth a visit?

I really liked how Golmok Naengmyeon 1966 Daegu's dak hanmari came loaded with vegetables, letting you enjoy it almost like shabu-shabu. Adding the kalguksu noodles and dumplings from the set left the two of us seriously stuffed haha. The restaurant is spacious and has its own parking lot too, so it seemed like a solid choice for a family meal. If you're looking for a lunch spot on Deuran-gil, dak hanmari is a satisfying, filling option worth trying.
