I had the five-layer pork belly and chewy pork, and the meat was insanely good‼️

It was nutty, chewy, and so delicious. The quality was seriously good—I guess they use great meat—and every single sauce and side, including the barley doenjang, herring roe, and garlic sauce, was delicious too 👍🏻

## Parking and the restaurant layout

Matdongsam Beomeo Main Branch, a Suseong-gu favorite that looks like it was converted from a house. The name Matdongsam is short for “delicious neighborhood samgyeopsal (pork belly).”

Two cars can park on the white line in front of the restaurant. You can also use the parking lot down the narrow lane beside the Girl Scouts Federation at 34 Dongdaegu-ro 80-gil, Suseong-gu. The road is narrow, so be careful~!

Just enter through the entrance straight ahead. The door on the right is the annex entrance, but the inside is connected.

It is more spacious inside than expected, and each section has its own air conditioner, so the cooling is powerful.

The basic table setting came with kimchi, white kimchi, jaeraegi (seasoned scallion salad), pickled radish and chili peppers, and a bean-sprout side dish! You can grill the potatoes and mushrooms too.

Matdongsam Beomeo Main Branch’s secret weapon is its barley doenjang, herring roe sauce, and garlic sauce—they are insanely good with the nutty meat!! The salty herring roe sauce is at the top of the photo, and the barley doenjang, mixed with barley, is below it.

This is the garlic sauce. It is sweet, so alternating it with the barley doenjang and herring roe sauce gives you that sweet-and-salty combo that keeps you eating 🥰

Matdongsam’s five-layer pork belly, which they say is selected at premium grade, was so good: nutty meat with that chewy skin attached.

Cold draft beer is essential with tasty meat. The Grandma doenjang stew, made with ground giant freshwater prawns for extra savory depth, was ₩5,000.

It was packed with tofu and zucchini, and the broth was delicious—perfect for mixing with rice and scooping up big bites!

I ordered extra wraps, and they brought them in a little basket haha. The interior already felt like Grandma’s house, and the basket made it completely adorable.

The kimchi comes grilled as standard, but I wanted it piping hot, so I put it on the grill.

Making samhap (a three-way bite) with grilled kimchi and mushrooms~~ Matdongsam Beomeo Main Branch is a real Suseong-gu gem with meat so good I want to go back! With the AC blasting too, it is just right for anyone who hates getting hot while eating grilled meat.
