While traveling in Danyang, I was looking for special foods you can only try there, so I stopped by Black Garlic Salt Bread! Danyang is famous for its garlic, so there are lots of foods that use it. This place lets you try salt bread made with six-clove garlic, a local specialty, so I was especially curious 😋

## A salt bread specialist at Danyang Gugyeong Market

Black Garlic Salt Bread (흑마늘소금빵) is located at Danyang Gugyeong Market, making it an easy stop during a Danyang trip. It seemed like a good place to drop by when you need a snack or bread to take home as a gift while traveling.

I heard Black Garlic Salt Bread is Danyang's only salt bread specialist, so it was somewhere I really wanted to visit during the trip. Along with regular salt bread, they sell garlic salt bread and black garlic salt bread made with Danyang garlic, so I was excited for flavors that would be hard to find elsewhere.

When you visit, the salt breads are displayed by variety. Just looking at them, I could almost smell that nutty, freshly baked bread aroma, and it naturally made me want to try one haha.

They age local Danyang garlic themselves to make black garlic, then use the black garlic extract in their salt bread 🧄 That made it feel distinctly different from ordinary salt bread—a kind of salt bread you can only taste in Danyang.

I loved that samples were available, so we could taste them and choose for ourselves. If it is your first visit, I think trying a sample and picking the flavor that suits your taste would be a great idea.

## Original salt bread eaten right away in the car

I was so curious that, as soon as we packed up at the shop, I could not wait and ate an original salt bread right in the car. Freshly baked salt bread really is best eaten right away, haha.

When I took a bite, the outside was crisp while the inside was moist and chewy. Above all, the rich butter flavor was so delicious!!

The signature salty taste of salt bread went beautifully with the nutty butter aroma, and the crisp exterior and soft interior made it impossible to stop reaching for more 🤤 Personally, I loved the original for its quite rich butter flavor and crisp texture!

I tried the garlic salt bread too. It had a subtle fragrant, slightly pungent garlic flavor. The garlic was not overpowering, and it went well with the butter, so I really enjoyed it 👍🏻
