The weather has gotten so much cooler, hasn’t it? 🍃 My husband and I had an errand in Asan, so we stopped by When You Bite, a brunch café in Tangjeong, for a weekend date. I’d wanted to visit several times before with a friend who lives in Asan, but our schedules always overlapped with its closing days, so we never made it 🥺 The atmosphere was so lovely, and my husband and I had such a satisfying date 😆

There are terrace seats at the front too, so I think it would be so nice to sit out here when the weather is good :) For parking, use the white-lined road beside the café. Even though we visited on the weekend, there were plenty of spaces available.

## Spacious table spacing and lovely things to browse

And the inside! I was surprised by how spacious it was as soon as we walked in. The ceiling is high and the tables are nicely spaced out, so it didn’t feel cramped at all. There are tables for two, four, and six, so it looked great not only for couples’ dates but also for get-togethers with friends 🤍

The wine-bottle display along one wall was so pretty, and they also sell little items like plates, cups, and cutlery, which made browsing fun. Stylish objects are placed all around, and one area is decorated with plants, so I loved the fresh, green feel too 🍃 Overall, it was clean and comfortable—a nice place to linger.

The menu is sooooo extensive, right? I almost got decision paralysis hahaha. We ordered eggs Benedict, truffle mushroom pasta, truffle French fries, and Coke Zero! I guess I really like truffles 🤣

## How the eggs Benedict and truffle dishes tasted

After a short wait, our food came out! The plating was so pretty, and that teal marble table was gorgeous too. It had been a while since I’d eaten such pretty food? I was excited 🤣

### Eggs Benedict topped with jambon and sous-vide poached eggs

First, the eggs Benedict! English muffins are topped with spinach, jambon (French-style cooked ham), and sous-vide poached eggs. Breaking the yolk and eating it all together was wonderfully soft and rich. The jambon kept it from tasting too plain, and it came with olives and French fries on the side, which were great to nibble on with it.

### Mushroom pasta with a delicate truffle aroma

Next was the truffle mushroom pasta! Seriously, the portion is huge! It’s pasta with pesticide-free mushrooms, butter, and truffle oil. I liked that the truffle aroma was subtle rather than overpowering, and there were lots of mushrooms, so you could really taste their distinctive flavor. The sauce had soaked nicely into the noodles, making the whole dish rich and deeply savory. It was delicious to load up the accompanying bread with sauce and pasta too 🤤

### Truffle French fries with cheese

And the truffle French fries! Thick-cut fries are topped with truffle oil and cheese. The potatoes themselves were fluffy, which gave them a great texture, and the truffle aroma definitely gave them more flavor than ordinary fries. With the cheese too, they were salty and nutty, and I just kept reaching for more 😆😆

It was so nice to have a relaxed brunch with my husband and feel like we had a proper weekend date for the first time in a while :) There are so many menu options that I’m curious about all the dishes we didn’t get to try. Next time, I’d like to have the tomato pasta, lasagna, and gnocchi too. If you’re looking for a brunch café with a great atmosphere in Tangjeong, Asan, definitely visit When You Bite 🍀🍀
