Today, I visited Boksakkot Pineun Jip Daejeon Branch (복사꽃피는집 대전점), famous for webfoot octopus in Gyesan-dong, Daejeon. It is also known around Yuseong-gu and Sutonggol in Daejeon for its webfoot octopus—the fire-grilled aroma, springy stir-fried octopus, and handmade pork loin cutlet that is crispy outside and tender inside were seriously delicious!

## Parking and what to know before entering

There is a dedicated parking lot in front of the restaurant for around 40 cars,

and if it is full, you can use the temporary parking lot.

At the front is a space called Dohwaji that you can use after your meal, but do not get confused—head inside to the restaurant first!

## A spacious restaurant with a kids' room and self-service bar

Inside, there is a waiting machine and seating area, and there seemed to be a wait most weekend lunches and dinners.

The restaurant is really spacious overall,

so it would be great for group dinners or family gatherings too. There is also a kids' room, which children would really love! Be sure to read the rules for using it~! High chairs are available too.

### What is at the self-service bar?

The self-service bar has side dishes, rice, soup, and drinks, so you can refill whatever you need as much as you like. Sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) and miyeokguk (seaweed soup) are available too, though they do not come as standard, so use the self-service bar if you want them. Another great thing is that you can scoop as much rice as you can eat straight from the rice cooker! Such amazing value..🥹👍🏻

There is no need to order drinks separately either—just use the cups beside them and have whichever drink you want. They also had small plates, extra bowls, wet wipes, and more set out for easy use!

The basic side dishes are young-radish kimchi, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), seasoned bean sprouts, and pickled radish.

The japchae was so delicious that I refilled it about three times, haha.

The cold muksabal (acorn-jelly soup) was refreshing, sweet, and tangy—just perfect for cleansing the palate!

When you order a set for two or more, pizza, salad, muksabal, and coffee are included. The pizza comes in small for two people, medium for three, and large for four!

## Springy fire-grilled webfoot octopus and pizza

When you order a set, the salad, cold muksabal, bowls of rice, and large bowls for mixing in the octopus arrive before the octopus itself. Does the octopus not look incredibly springy?ㅠㅠ There was seriously so much of it too👍🏻 Ahh, looking at it again while writing this post is making my mouth waterㅠㅠ🤤

Even after serving enough into three bowls, there was octopus left. I added more of the bean sprouts that came as a side dish, mixed it all up, and enjoyed it! The spicy sauce went perfectly with the octopus and fire-grilled flavor, and I liked that it was not overly intense.

Since the pizza was included in the set, I did not expect much, but it was bigger than expected, loaded with cheese, and delicious! I thought pizza would not go with stir-fried webfoot octopus, but taking a bite when the octopus started to feel spicy really calmed the heat down. Look at that cheese pull 🧀 They give you honey to eat with the gorgonzola pizza, and gorgonzola pizza with honey is just unbeatable~ haha🫶🏻

## Crispy-outside, tender-inside handmade pork loin cutlet

I did not want to have only octopus, so I ordered the cutlet too, and it was seriously delicious as well.

I expected something like an ordinary snack-bar cutlet, but it was wonderfully crispy outside and tender inside, with such good quality! The coating was crisp, while the inside was packed with pork loin, so it was not dry at all and was really tender🤤 The accompanying sauce had sesame seeds in it, making it sweet, tangy, and nutty—a perfect match for the cutlet!

Beside the self-service bar, they also sold ice cream and snacks to buy for after the meal🤤 Ice cream cannot be eaten inside the restaurant!

## The Dohwaji space for post-meal drinks

After finishing your meal, you can order the bean coffee included with the set. The description says bean coffee, but the menu has several options, so you can choose whichever drink you want! It is run by the restaurant, but is the quality not better than expected? We ordered iced chocolate, an iced Americano, and oolong tea, haha.

This is Dohwaji, the space you can use after finishing your meal at the restaurant. It was surprisingly almost as large as the restaurant itself!

This is not a café; it is a place where you can drink the beverage included with your set or rest for a while after eating at the restaurant!

The atmosphere is so pretty, right? I think it is even more popular because you can use it all at once without going separately to a restaurant and café.

Having a place to rest is great enough, but there are snacks inside too!🥹 They had put out genuinely tasty snacks!👍🏻 I especially recommend the oranda (Korean puffed-rice snack). Oranda is so good..🤤

The webfoot octopus is also available for takeout, so it would be nice to pack for a camping trip. They also give you ice cream for taking part in a receipt review, so keep that in mind~!

> With a comfortable restaurant and worry-free parking, it is ideal for group gatherings, and I loved the generous set menu with pizza and coffee included.

The spacious Daejeon restaurant interior and parking lot make it perfectly suited to gatherings such as group dinners and family get-togethers. The pairing of handmade pork loin cutlet—the definition of crispy outside and tender inside—and fire-grilled webfoot octopus that was full of smoky flavor, chewy, and springy was so good. I highly recommend Boksakkot Pineun Jip Daejeon Branch, a fantastic spot for webfoot octopus in Daejeon!☺️🫶🏻
