## A special pot-rice meal my sibling and I chose in Cheongju's Seongan-gil

There is so much to do in Cheongju's Seongan-gil that whenever I hang out there, I end up having at least one meal. Especially as someone who gets around on foot, I've visited lots of good restaurants in Cheongju's Seongan-gil!

This time, my youngest sibling and I got to spend time together in Cheongju for the first time in a while, and we visited Sorori Cheongju Main Branch for a special meal. I first listed several dinner options and told my sibling to choose, and pot rice was their pick! Sorori Cheongju Main Branch serves several kinds of pot rice. Walk straight toward Cheongsonyeon Gwangjang from Seongan-gil and you'll find it!

You'll spot the sign saying Sorori right away. If you see all the lights on outside, don't hesitate to head in!

## A review event and plenty of seating

They happened to be running a Kakao Map and Naver Review event, so we joined the prize draw too! We wanted the third- or fifth-place prize. What did we get~? (The result is coming up just below.)

Sorori Cheongju Main Branch has plenty of seats, and since it has no break time on busy weekends, it is very easy to fit in a meal. I came with my middle-school-aged sibling after school on a weekday, when they got out early.

## Ordering Korean beef tripe pot rice and eel pot rice

This is the Korean beef tripe pot rice my sibling ordered. It had more generously sized pieces of seasoned tripe than I expected. Shishito peppers, garlic flakes, stir-fried onions, and garlic chives came together perfectly.

This is the eel pot rice I ordered! It came with the classic eel rice bowl combination. It was a combination that simply couldn't taste bad.

The food arrived after just the right amount of waiting. The day before, my sibling and I had stir-fried webfoot octopus and tripe, and I was really surprised that they must have fallen for tripe enough to order Korean beef tripe pot rice.

Whenever I go out for pot rice, I always tend to order eel pot rice, but seeing my sibling's Korean beef tripe pot rice made me want to switch. They gave us plenty of wasabi, so you can take as much as you like.

## The self bar and how to eat eel pot rice

You can take any extra side dishes or rice you need from the self bar! But let's serve ourselves only as much as we can eat, in small portions :)

Can you see the gorgeous pot rice topped with eel? The seasoning was just right, and it was such a perfect match with the lightly crisped rice at the bottom.

We drew fourth-place sikhye (sweet rice punch) from the prize board! But my sibling can't drink sikhye, so we exchanged it for Sprite haha.

My sibling and I also held a one-bite exchange ceremony. My youngest sibling doesn't like eel, but wanted to steal some of mine, so we made a one-bite trade. Still, after trying the eel pot rice they gave me a bite of, my sibling said it was delicious.

When they first brought over the pot rice, they explained how to enjoy it. They especially recommended wrapping it in gim (roasted seaweed) with the sauce, so I ate it that way too. If it starts to feel a little rich, have some mini pickled chili peppers, salted fermented squid, or kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi)! And if you need more, there is the self bar, so you can bring some over~

I don't eat much pickled ginger, so I set only that aside and cleaned my plate. I was happy to feel like I'd found a great pot-rice restaurant with delicious, chewy, piping-hot rice. If you live in Cheongju or are visiting and looking for great pot rice or a good restaurant in Cheongju's Seongan-gil, I recommend Sorori Cheongju Main Branch near Seongan-gil!!
