The interior is spacious and so cozy and pretty. It feels nice to eat neat Korean food and pork cutlet in what almost feels like a café atmosphere. ^^

Group diners were eating too, and I noticed plenty of families and friends. While I was taking photos of an empty table, more guests kept coming in right behind me. When you want a neat, hearty lunch, Oneul Haru in Gangseo-dong, Cheongju is exactly the spot.

## What we ordered for lunch with a child

Looking at the menu, there's a wide range that anyone — young or old — can enjoy, which is why I'd recommend it as a pleasant lunch spot. I visited with my child today too.

- Soba Pork Cutlet Set — ₩12,000
- Gochujang Bulgogi Gondre Rice Set — ₩15,000
- Shrimp Tempura — ₩2,000 each × 2

I'd like to try the LA galbi (marinated short rib) set next time. The mackerel add-on for ₩5,000 on top of an existing set also caught my eye.

## Oneul Haru's self-serve bar: salad, tteokbokki, fried snacks and grapes

One reason I'd recommend this Gangseo-dong, Cheongju lunch spot is the clean self-serve bar.

![Photo of the self-serve bar space at Oneul Haru](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch-10-1wqcd-900.webp)

![Photo of side dishes and food lined up at the self-serve bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch-11-w13tj-900.webp)

With fresh cabbage salad and neat side dishes, plus sweet-spicy tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes), warm tempura, and sweet grapes for dessert, the meal only gets more satisfying. I grabbed a little salad, tteokbokki, and tempura. ^^

## Soba and pork cutlet set, 12,000 won

The Soba Pork Cutlet Set is ₩12,000. You get a bowl of soba together with pork cutlet, sesame dressing salad, nabak kimchi (thin-sliced water kimchi), grated radish, wasabi, and pork cutlet sauce.

![Photo of the Soba Pork Cutlet Set spread](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch-14-grqc5-900.webp)

![Photo of the pork cutlet and soba set](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch-15-1q660-900.webp)

The pork cutlet was fried crispy, with meat that stayed moist and had great texture. I tried it with the grated radish and wasabi. Two slices of lemon added an even brighter flavor.

The buckwheat soba was better than I expected. The noodles were soft and the broth's seasoning wasn't too salty — just right, and refreshing to eat.

![Photo of shrimp tempura ordered by the piece](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch-16-s77x4-900.webp)

I wanted shrimp tempura as a side, and since you can order it one piece at a time, I added it right away. The crispy shrimp tempura was really big and had a nutty, savory flavor. +_+

## Gochujang bulgogi gondre pot rice, 15,000 won

The Gochujang Bulgogi Gondre Rice Set is ₩15,000. It comes with gondre stone-pot rice, gochujang bulgogi, wrap vegetables, seasoned soy sauce, dried seaweed, four kinds of side dishes, and seaweed soup.

![Photo of the Gochujang Bulgogi Gondre Rice Set](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch-18-165dd-900.webp)

![Photo of the full Gochujang Bulgogi Gondre Rice Set spread](https://img.superchart.com/images/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch/cheongju-gagyeongdon-donkatsu-soba-lunch-19-y21vu-900.webp)

The gochujang bulgogi was really delicious — the sauce had great savory depth and the meat was tender. ^^ It was tasty just eaten with rice, but wrapping it in cabbage brought out even more layered flavors in every bite.

The side dishes change up a bit — today we got dried eggplant, zucchini, sweet potato stems, and nabak kimchi. You can request more side dishes at the kiosk, or grab extra from the self-serve bar.

The stone-pot rice was loaded with gondre.

Mixing in the seasoning sauce makes it feel healthy and satisfying as a meal. Sipping the seaweed soup from the earthenware bowl between bites paired really well.

## Is Oneul Haru worth it for a family meal?

There were even Polo mints on the way out to freshen your mouth. I was too full to try the grapes set out for dessert, haha.

Usually when you go out for Korean food, everyone has to agree on the same type of dish, but at Oneul Haru in Gangseo-dong, you can each order something different — pork cutlet, soba, pork cutlet curry, and more — in a single meal. That's a real advantage for family dining, letting everyone eat their own thing rather than a single set menu, which is probably why I keep coming back. Being able to fill up on tteokbokki, tempura, and fruit from the self-serve bar too makes this a place I'd recommend.

You can also inquire about catering, lunchbox packing, or group reservations. It's open daily from 11:00 to 22:00 with no break time.
