Three months after our last meetup with the Rim-Eji couple, we finally made it back to Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch, a favorite spot in Boram-dong, Sejong. It was about time for an Olivus run — it really was.

Chef-jji, who came along with me the first time, remembers it as a place that does pasta, pizza, and risotto all equally well, and he's one of the few who actually says "let's go eat Western food" on his own. That's how many times we've genuinely revisited as a couple — it's a solid pasta spot in Boram-dong worth recommending for a Sejong date.

## Inside the burgundy dining room, with a table for groups of 20

The interior of Olivus Compagno Boram Branch is done in a burgundy tone that suits the autumn mood especially well. Now that it's cool enough to need a jacket again, the hangers and coat racks along the wall come in handy.

We had a 7pm reservation, and when we walked in we saw a group just finishing up at the group seating area. That section has the feel of dining in a European family home. There are more seats than you'd expect — enough for group bookings of 20 or more.

## The Olivus Compagno menu and what we ordered this time

A worthwhile spot to check out in Sejong, Olivus Compagno Sejong Branch's menu 💡 has set combos sized for different group counts, which looked handy for eating with several people. The regular menu covers pasta, risotto, pizza, and sides.

I've been to Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch enough times (this is our nth visit) that I could write a review of practically every menu item. This time Chef-jji suggested trying something new, so we included the lasagna.

### Aglio olio, 13,900 won, ordered slightly spicy

Olivus Compagno's aglio olio is ₩13,900, and you can choose your spice level — we went with "slightly spicy." It's the classic olive-oil pasta, topped lightly with arugula and cheese.

More garlic is always better, in my food philosophy — I'm a total garlic lover. Even Chef-jji, who's not big on garlic, could eat this comfortably, so the amount was well-judged, and the spice level stayed under Shin Ramyun level. The seasoning had just enough salt without overpowering the olive oil's aroma — it was genuinely spot on.

### Homemade lasagna, 19,900 won: our first time ordering it

The homemade lasagna at Olivus Compagno Boram Branch is ₩19,900, served piping hot in a gratin dish. Restaurants that make lasagna from scratch aren't common, and Chef-jji carefully cut it so we could each get a bit of every layer.

Of everything we ordered, the lasagna disappeared first — because Chef-jji declared it delicious and kept going back for more. It was surprisingly nice how the tomato-and-ground-meat filling wasn't too salty. I usually don't love lasagna because it's often over-seasoned, but this place, which I already knew was great at pasta, turns out to be great at lasagna too.

### Cinnamon pear gorgonzola pizza, 18,900 won: our favorite dish

The cinnamon pear gorgonzola pizza (₩18,900) is my favorite pizza at Olivus Compagno. I'm the type who could finish a whole pure cheese pizza solo, and this combination with pear and cinnamon added won me over more than I expected.

There's honey on the side, but my personal trick is to eat the center without it, then dip only the crust edge into honey at the end. (If you want it less sweet overall, try that.)

## The best dishes at Olivus Compagno after many visits

Having already been to Olivus Compagno Boram Branch so many times, I could probably name a favorite, but honestly, they're good at everything, which makes picking just one really hard.

- On my first visit I fell for the pink shrimp rosé panne pasta
- Chef-jji fell for the cuttlefish tomato pasta the first time he came with me
- My mom fell for the toowoomba fettuccine when I brought her along
- The Rim-Eji couple raved about the squid ink risotto

Everyone who comes here seems to leave genuinely happy, which is exactly why it's become such a beloved neighborhood Western restaurant for us. That's my honest review of Olivus Compagno Boram Branch, a Sejong Boram-dong favorite I visited in person.
