There were plenty of families, and what struck me was that even young kids were happily eating the soy crab. Not at Kkotgeok The spread came with roe-packed soy crab, seasoned crab, and a whole line-up of banchan (side dishes), so it was a proper way to enjoy gejang. The soy crab wasn't overly salty, and it wasn't overly sweet either, which I liked. I could really taste the full roe of the crab, and it matched perfectly with rice. It had a bit of a sharp spicy kick that went really well with plain rice! Piling crab meat onto a generous bowl of warm white rice, I understood why people call gejang a 'rice thief.' If you want proper gejang in Cheonan during fall crab season, this is worth a visit at least once. You can enjoy the roe-packed soy crab, seasoned crab, banchan, and crab-shell bibimbap generously, all for about ₩35,000 per person — not a heavy price tag for a spread like this.
