Looking straight across the river, my own house happened to be right in view, which made the experience even more special and fun.

You might think the annex would feel cramped, blocked as it is by the main house, but the entire front is a floor-to-ceiling window, so it felt open and made for a satisfying meal.

After sitting down and ordering, ciabatta was served first as a bread starter. It came out warm and softly toasted — plenty to whet the appetite before the main meal. For the mains, we chose the abalone gui pasta and spinach mornay gnocchi.

Abalone gui pasta, made with a sauce from abalone innards, lives or dies on how well the fishy taste is controlled — and with garlic scapes and cheongyang chili added, the balance was handled brilliantly.

Even with cheongyang chili in it, it wasn't spicy — just a faint kick that made the flavor even better.

The spinach mornay gnocchi also came in a generous portion, and the harmony between the mornay sauce and bacon made for an excellent salty, nutty flavor.

After finishing the meal, we also checked out the café space set up on the second floor.

The second floor is a prime spot for taking in the open Han River view across the yard.

The windows are so large that I thought summer sunlight might make it hot, but both floors had well-managed air conditioning, so it stayed remarkably comfortable the whole time.

On top of that, the staff's friendly manner came through naturally, making both the meal and the tour of the space feel more relaxed and well taken care of. Between the view, the food, and the attentive service and temperature control, this is easily one of the best brunch dining spots in Namyangju.
