## In short

Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch is a frozen pork belly (naengdong samgyeopsal) restaurant near Dasan Station in the Dasan New Town area of Namyangju, Gyeonggi. The order was two servings of frozen pork belly, one serving of pork cheek and a bowl of rice, which came with 8 dipping sauces, steamed egg in the middle of the table, and shredded radish, scallion salad and kimchi, plus minari (water dropwort) grilled alongside the meat. Thick, savory pork belly with no off smell and an unusually neat banchan spread made Eungbongjip the most memorable BBQ restaurant in Dasan.

While looking for good naengsam (frozen pork belly) in Dasan, I stopped by Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch.

I went because I'd heard it was famous for naengsam, but what surprised me most that day wasn't actually the meat. It was the neat, pretty basic side dish spread!

> The banchan here is seriously well done!

I went for the meat but ended up falling for the table setting first.

## A Dasan Station BBQ restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows

Walking into Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch, the floor-to-ceiling windows caught my eye first. You could see clearly outside, which opened up the view and cut down on that stuffy feeling BBQ places can have.

Tables were mostly set for 4 people, with group seating too, so it looked good for eating with a bigger crowd.

Taste matters at a BBQ place, but if the atmosphere is too cramped or stuffy, it's hard to sit for long. Eungbongjip felt pretty comfortable, maybe thanks to those windows. So if you're looking for a Dasan Station BBQ restaurant, this one is worth keeping in mind.

## Ordering two servings of frozen pork belly and one pork cheek

![Table setting of frozen pork belly and pork cheek at Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces-04-1jsf7-900.webp)

That day I ordered 2 servings of frozen pork belly, 1 serving of pork cheek, and rice. Since Eungbongjip is known for its naengsam, I naturally ordered that, and I was also curious about the pork cheek, a specialty cut, so I picked that too.

Then the food started coming out one by one, and I was impressed all over again.

### The banchan spread at Eungbongjip is neat and pretty

When the basic banchan comes out this clean at a BBQ place, it just puts you in a good mood. The radish salad, scallion salad, and kimchi were arranged neatly, looking great and tasting good too.

They were exactly the kind of side dishes that go well with meat, so I found myself picking at them one by one even before the naengsam was cooked, haha.

## Eight dipping sauces on one tray, really?

One of the most impressive things at Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch!

![Grill with 8 sauces and steamed egg in the center](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces-06-16r7o-900.webp)

There were a whopping 8 sauces to dip the meat in. Instead of sticking to just one sauce, you could rotate through several, which made picking your favorite kind of fun.

And that's not all. Right in the center sat steamed egg! Warm, soft steamed egg eaten together with the meat was a perfect match.

> 8 kinds of sauce plus steamed egg — the table setting is already the best!

Looking at the basic banchan that day, I realized this wasn't a place that just plops the meat down and calls it done. It felt like they wanted you to enjoy all sorts of combinations to find the tastiest way to eat the meat, and I really liked that.

## Minari, the hidden highlight of Eungbongjip's frozen pork belly

There was one more point I really loved. It was the minari (water dropwort). I put the minari that came with the meat on the grill and cooked it alongside.

![Minari and frozen pork belly on the grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces-07-ckxcm-900.webp)

![Naengsam grilling together with minari](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces-08-dfwiu-900.webp)

![Minari grilling to a golden brown](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces-09-9zoml-900.webp)

![Grill with naengsam and minari cooking together](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces-10-s84o8-900.webp)

It matched better than I expected. As the minari grilled, a fragrant aroma rose up, and eating it with the golden, cooked naengsam added a lovely fragrance to the savory flavor — genuinely delicious.

> Grilling minari together with the naengsam is the icing on the cake!

With a piece of naengsam topped with minari and a bit of scallion salad, I couldn't stop reaching for more. Personally, this was the combination I remembered most from that day.

## One bite of thick frozen pork belly

Now, on to the frozen pork belly itself. I expected naengsam to be very thin slices, but Eungbongjip's naengsam is on the thicker side, so you could really feel the texture of the meat even after grilling.

I picked up a golden, well-cooked piece and took a bite — wow, so savory!

And what I really loved was that there was zero smell from the meat. With naengsam, you sometimes worry about a smell, but the frozen pork belly I had that day was clean, with no such issue.

The savory flavor really came through, so it was delicious plain, and delicious dipped in any of the 8 sauces too. Alternating between the scallion salad, radish salad, and kimchi, and topping it with grilled minari, each piece felt like a different combination to enjoy. So if you're looking for samgyeopsal near Dasan Station, Eungbongjip, known for its naengsam, seems like a solid choice.

![A full spread of naengsam with a bowl of rice](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces-15-1873z-900.webp)

## Chewy pork cheek is a different kind of treat

The pork cheek ordered alongside the naengsam also exceeded expectations.

![One serving of pork cheek at Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces/eungbongjip-dasan-station-frozen-pork-sauces-16-hlydl-900.webp)

Being a specialty cut, I was curious about the texture, and one bite confirmed it was definitely different from the naengsam.

> That chewy texture is really delicious.

The more you chew, the more savory it gets, and the texture itself is so fun that I kept reaching for more. If the frozen pork belly is savory and light in a way that keeps you eating, the pork cheek's clear charm is its chewy bite. I was glad I ordered both.

## Adding a bowl of rice makes the meal complete

I also ordered rice alongside the meat, and it went well as expected. A well-grilled piece of naengsam, a bit of scallion salad, and a spoonful of rice. Add some kimchi, some radish salad, and the minari too, and a whole bowl of rice disappeared in no time.

The meat itself was delicious, but combining it with all these different side dishes and sauces meant I never got tired of it, right up to the last bite.

## Worth remembering if you want Korean BBQ in Dasan

After visiting in person, I realized Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch isn't a place you go to just for the naengsam alone. There's the thick, savory frozen pork belly, the chewy pork cheek, and then the 8 sauces, the steamed egg in the center, the radish salad, scallion salad, kimchi, and the grilled minari.

I especially loved grilling the minari together with the meat. The savoriness of the naengsam and the fragrance of the minari matched so much better than I expected that I kept eating them together.

If you're looking for a Dasan BBQ restaurant or samgyeopsal in Dasan, give Eungbongjip, known for its naengsam, a try. The atmosphere with the floor-to-ceiling windows was great, and with mostly 4-person tables plus group seating, it was good for dining together too.

Most of all, what stuck with me was that there was none of the smell I worried about with naengsam, just savory flavor, and the neat basic banchan that caught my eye from the very start.

## Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch: the verdict

Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch — I went for the naengsam but fell for the table setting first. Thick, savory naengsam, chewy pork cheek, 8 sauces and steamed egg, tasty side dishes, and grilled minari on top of it all! This feels like the place I'll think of again whenever I'm craving naengsam in Dasan.
