## In short

Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong is a Japanese restaurant in Songpa, Seoul, serving tonkatsu, mazemen and 솥밥 (pot-cooked rice). I had the mazemen-and-tonkatsu set, hirekatsu and mini curry, and the counter seating, group tables and warm water made it especially easy for a solo lunch. Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong is a satisfying pick when you want crisp, light katsu with chewy mazemen noodles.

While looking for a good restaurant near Jamsil Baseball Stadium during my Seoul trip, I ended up at Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong, a tonkatsu spot in Terratower by Munjeong Station in Songpa, Seoul. It was such a satisfying place where I got completely full on delicious mazemen and tonkatsu.

## Gome Mui at Munjeong Station Terratower: location and parking

Gome Mui, a popular restaurant by Munjeong Station, is on the first floor of Terratower in Songpa, Seoul.

For parking, use the underground lot in Terratower Building A; diners receive 90 minutes of free parking. I had worried because everyone says parking is difficult anywhere in Seoul, but the lot was fairly spacious, so parking here was easy.

Gome Mui is also just a five-minute walk from Exit 3 of Munjeong Station, so it is easy to visit by public transport too.

Gome Mui by Munjeong Station has a varied Japanese-style menu including curry, mazesoba (sauceless mixed noodles) and cold soba. Its signature dishes are tonkatsu and 솥밥 (pot-cooked rice). Tonkatsu and pot rice together—how could that not be great? It is a filling yet neat meal, perfect for office workers at lunch.

There was a waiting list in front of the restaurant, so it seems to be a place that normally has a queue. Luckily, we arrived a little after the main meal rush and could go straight in.

If there is a wait, chairs are provided outside. There is also a menu board out front, which makes it nice to see what is available before going in. Gome Mui has Japanese-style dishes including pot rice, tonkatsu, mazemen and curry.

## Seating for solo diners through to groups

Gome Mui combines gome, the Japanese word for “rice,” with mui, meaning “the one and only,” for a flavor that is one of a kind in the world...!

Inside, the warm wood-toned interior has tables for two and four, group tables, and window counter seats. The counter seats make it great for eating alone too, so I would recommend it as a solo-dining spot 👍🏻 There was a large group table by the entrance as well, so it looked good for visiting with several people. True to its reputation as a Munjeong Station favorite, there were already quite a few couples and families eating.

You order and pay right away using the tablet at each table. There are lots of Japanese-style dishes—tonkatsu, cold soba, mazesoba, curry and pot rice—and filling set menus make choosing easy.

There were water pitchers on the table, and I wondered why there were two until I realized the thermos held warm water. Such a thoughtful touch—both warm and cold water, so you can drink whichever you prefer 👍🏻 The utensils were individually wrapped too, which felt more hygienic. You can receive a drink by taking part in the review event : )

## A set with mazemen and loin tonkatsu

Mazemen + tonkatsu set: ₩16,400. A set menu where you can have both mazemen and tonkatsu!

![Mazemen and tonkatsu set menu](https://img.superchart.com/images/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon-12-kwnvh-966.webp)

The set included roskatsu (pork loin cutlet). Its coating was not thick but wonderfully crisp, and it was not greasy, so the roskatsu tasted light and delicious. If you are looking for good tonkatsu near Munjeong Station, this is the place 👏🏻

The mazemen came beautifully topped with green onion, onion, scallion, seaweed, minced meat and an egg yolk.

![Mazemen with thick sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon-15-f1ni8-966.webp)

![Mazemen noodles and remaining seasoning](https://img.superchart.com/images/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon-16-4tcei-966.webp)

With no broth, the mazemen had a thick sauce made even better with Gome Mui’s own secret sauce. I loved the bouncy, chewy texture of the noodles. Once you have eaten some of the noodles, adding rice and mixing it in is basically the rule, haha..! Rice is free. Mixing rice into the remaining seasoning makes another special little treat...

## Juicy pork tenderloin hirekatsu

Hirekatsu (pork tenderloin): ₩15,000.

![Rosy pork tenderloin hirekatsu](https://img.superchart.com/images/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon-17-17tne-966.webp)

Hirekatsu, made with tenderloin, is my favorite cut of tonkatsu. This cutlet had a rosy center and was packed with juices.

![Hirekatsu meal with rice, soup and salad](https://img.superchart.com/images/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon-18-882ms-966.webp)

The katsu came as a clean, complete meal with rice, soup and salad, making it a very filling choice.

![Lightly spicy soup with the hirekatsu meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon-19-8f2gn-966.webp)

The soup was a little like udon broth, but lightly spicy and peppery, and I really enjoyed it.

![Hirekatsu and accompanying dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon-20-1rhku-966.webp)

![Cabbage salad with two dressings](https://img.superchart.com/images/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon-21-1gw5n-966.webp)

The cabbage salad came with two kinds of dressing, so it was nice to choose whichever I wanted. There was also salt, tonkatsu sauce and pickled radish to enjoy alongside it. The coating was crispy while the inside was tender and full of juices—the textbook crispy-outside, moist-inside hirekatsu. I had the tenderloin hirekatsu with wasabi and with tonkatsu sauce too. There was no porky smell at all, and it was so juicy and light that it was delicious even dipped only in salt 😋

## Mini curry added as a side

![Mini curry side dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon-22-1sns2-966.webp)

Mini curry: ₩4,000. As a curry lover, I was curious about the curry and ordered this mini version as a side. I wanted to try the curry, tonkatsu and mazemen all at once and felt a little torn, so I was so happy there was mini curry on the side menu 😇

It was familiar but not quite familiar—a refined flavor, perhaps. There was rice in the curry too, and it was delicious both with katsu dipped into the sauce and simply mixed into the rice.

![Table after the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon/munjeong-gomemui-hirekatsu-mazeudon-23-xctn4-966.webp)

What a delicious meal 😋

On the way out, I finished with a dessert yogurt ~! If you are an office worker looking for a lunch spot, or looking for a solo-dining restaurant or a good place in Terratower, I recommend giving Gome Mui by Munjeong Station a visit. I had such a neat, delicious meal here and was very satisfied : )
