An earlier trip ended in a sellout, so this second visit meant a 5-minute wait for three flavors — gold kiwi, peach yogurt and mango yogurt — and the yogurt cream ones beat the red bean gold kiwi. Tareudang, a dessert spot in Gyeongju's Hwangnidang-gil, is tucked in cutely right in front of Goyu. It's a pretty small place, so you could easily walk right past it, but the Hwangnam Mochi Tareudang signboard is easy to spot so I found it right away! When I visited there was a bit of a line, so I waited about 5 minutes before I could buy anything. Last time I visited I unfortunately missed out because everything had sold out, but this time I got lucky with the timing and got to try it! Tareudang sells a variety of desserts including giant mochi, gotgam sando, and tarts. The giant mochi ✨ is probably the hottest item right now. They had dried persimmon yogurt, plain chocolate, fig yogurt, peach yogurt, mango yogurt, and gold kiwi flavors available. Since it's a giant mochi, the fruit and yogurt cream inside are generous. The sweet fruit juice paired nicely with the yogurt's freshness, it wasn't too sweet so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy, and the size was so big that one was filling enough.
