## The shop with a line on Hwangnidang-gil: what Tareudang sells

Tareudang is a giant fruit mochi shop at 49 Sajeong-ro, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongbuk, on Hwangnidang-gil. I was walking through Hwangnidang-gil on my way to a nearby prop shop when I saw a crowd of young people lined up outside some shop, haha.

What's this...? 👀 I looked closer and it turned out to be Tareudang, a Hwangnam-mochi K-dessert shop selling giant mochi stuffed with whole chunks of fruit.

My inner mochi geek immediately kicked in, so I ended up waiting about 10 minutes myself, haha.

My companions (husband and baby) were at the end of their patience, haha, so I rushed to buy things, but next time I really want to try the dried persimmon menu 😭😭

🩶Menu and prices may change depending on fruit and season, so it's best to check the menu board when you visit. Also, buying 4 or more mochi gets you ₩500 off each.

After 10 minutes of waiting, I finally got my mochi, haha. Some middle-school boys saw me buying it and shouted that they wanted some too. The luxury of being an adult who can buy without hesitation~ haha.

## Two peach yogurt and one mango yogurt: the slime-soft rice cake skin

I picked two peach yogurt and one mango yogurt at Tareudang. Couldn't resist and opened it right on the street, haha.

Tareudang's mochi is much softer and gooier than typical mochi or chapssaltteok — really chewy.

Honestly, it's slime-like in texture, haha. My husband was amazed too, saying, "How do they shape something this floppy into a mochi form?"

Cut in half, there's a big chunk of fruit inside wrapped in yogurt cream — sweet, but with a nicely refreshing tang!

## My one pick at Tareudang: mango yogurt mochi

Both were delicious, but personally I recommend Tareudang's mango yogurt! My nickname is literally Mango Melon, haha, so I wondered if I was just biased toward mango — but even my husband, a peach devotee, said mango was better.

The mango's deep sweetness paired especially well with the tangy yogurt cream 🥭✨

There's a generous amount of fruit packed inside, yum~~ And while searching online, I saw a lot of posts about Tareudang's fig mochi and dried persimmon mochi, which I still regret not trying. Especially fig and dried persimmon seem like they'd pair perfectly with this chewy mochi, so I definitely want to try them on my next Gyeongju trip.

## Tareudang also sells egg tarts and cheesecake tarts

For reference, Tareudang also sells egg tarts and cheesecake tarts. Tart set ₩17,500 → 2 egg tarts + 2 cheesecake tarts. Egg tart plain ₩3,500, mango ₩4,200. Cheesecake tart brûlée ₩5,000, mango ₩6,000.

Being a mango lover, of course the mango egg tart and mango cheesecake tart caught my eye the most, haha 🥭 Since there are tart options besides mochi, it seems like a good spot to visit with a group and share a bit of everything.

If you're exploring Hwangnidang-gil and craving something sweet — looking for a good Hwangnidang-gil café or dessert spot — Tareudang is worth a stop ♡ Next time I'll try the fig and dried persimmon. But my top pick for a repeat buy is still the mango yogurt 🥭
