## In short

Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch is an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant in Igok-dong, Dalseo, Daegu. The ₩28,900 set brings out all four meats — imperial beef short rib, makchang (grilled pork intestine), Korean pork belly and pork ribs — and the writer ate it in a private room at 6:30pm on a weekday after the main hall filled up. Of the four, the juicy Korean pork belly suited her taste best.

I have an all-you-can-eat buddy — my close friend Podo (I'll just call her that, haha). A few months back she said, "Unnie, I want to try Gankeun Galbi!" I'd been to the old Pyeongni branch years ago, so I told her, "I've been there before. Let's pick a date and go together sometime~"

Sorry, Podo. Today I went with another friend first... but it's not really betrayal (?) — I'm just doing recon first so we can decide together whether it's worth a proper trip.

So today's spot was Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch. It's an all-you-can-eat place with everything from pork ribs to gopchang (beef/pork intestine) to Korean pork belly. This time there's a set that even includes imperial beef short rib, so we went for the biggest combo. I was also curious because they'd just launched a new Korean pork belly all-you-can-eat menu. So — is this a place I can bring my buddy Podo back to? Let me do the taste test first, haha!

## Where is Gankeun Galbi Seongseo, and where do you park?

Gankeun Galbi Seongseo Branch is on the 2nd floor at 71 Igok-dong-ro, Dalseo-gu, Daegu. It's open daily from 12:00 to 23:30, and there's a dedicated parking lot on the ground floor of the building. Restrooms are separated by gender inside the building, and there's group seating, reservations, a kids' playroom, high chairs, a waiting area, and wheelchair-accessible seats.

![Building exterior and sign for Gankeun Galbi Seongseo in Igok-dong, Daegu](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-02-cnx6a-966.webp)

The Gankeun Galbi sign is visible from outside the building, so it wasn't hard to find — the restaurant is on the 2nd floor. I always check parking first when driving, and here they had a dedicated lot right on the ground floor.

![Dedicated ground-floor pilotis parking lot](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-03-186q6-966.webp)

Since it's ground-floor pilotis parking, you're sheltered from rain or snow and can head straight up to the restaurant after parking. So convenient! For family outings or bigger groups arriving in multiple cars — especially with kids and grandparents in tow — having ground-floor covered parking is a huge plus.

![Waiting area in front of the counter](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-04-ixs3i-966.webp)

There's a waiting area right in front of the counter. It was empty when I arrived, but while going back and forth to the self-bar I noticed people waiting. If you don't want to wait, it's probably best to book ahead through Naver.

## 6:30pm on a weekday: the hall was full, so we got a private room

I also took a look around the restaurant.

![Main hall packed with customers during dinner hours](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-05-1avyl-966.webp)

I went straight from work, so 6:30pm felt reasonably early to me — but the main hall was already packed! The interior overall is clean and tidy. Table spacing was decent, and I loved that the chairs had headrests.

It looked great for family meals, and there were tables big enough for groups of friends or company dinners too. Families with kids would also love the separate playroom — more on that below. 😊

Since the hall was full, we were shown to a private room! It was nice and quiet compared to the main hall since it was a separate space. There was a door too, but since we'd be going back and forth to the self-bar, the staff left it open for us. This kind of space would be great for company dinners or group gatherings!

## Gankeun Galbi Seongseo menu and prices

![All-you-can-eat menu pricing banner in front of the entrance](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-06-v53i7-966.webp)

Let me walk you through the menu using the banner by the entrance. At Gankeun Galbi Seongseo, you choose your all-you-can-eat plan based on which meats you want.

- Pork ribs all-you-can-eat: ₩19,900
- Pork belly + pork ribs all-you-can-eat: ₩21,900
- Gopchang + pork belly + pork ribs all-you-can-eat: ₩23,900
- Imperial beef short rib + gopchang + pork belly + pork ribs all-you-can-eat: ₩28,900

We went with the ₩28,900 all-you-can-eat! There's also a lunch special — check the banner photo for details.

Since we were already here, we figured we'd go all out and picked the combo with imperial beef short rib, gopchang, pork belly, and pork ribs. There were also à la carte options: pork ribs ₩6,900, pork belly ₩7,900, gopchang ₩8,900, imperial beef short rib ₩10,900, plus dishes like naengmyeon (cold noodles) and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew).

### New on the menu: Korean pork belly is all-you-can-eat too

What really caught my eye this time at Gankeun Galbi Seongseo was the new Korean pork belly all-you-can-eat menu. Honestly, I'd already seen it posted in the notices section of their Naver Place page! That's actually part of why I came.

Looking at the banner menu in person, it clearly said "domestic/Korean" next to the pork belly. All-you-can-eat places usually use imported meat, so being able to eat Korean pork belly unlimited was a huge draw. I checked the pork belly up close before grilling it properly — more on that later!

## What's on the self-bar at Gankeun Galbi Seongseo?

(There were customers around the whole time so I couldn't get a full shot of the self-bar — this is the one I managed to snap when no one was using it!) Before digging into the meat, I did a lap around the self-bar. First, the meats you can grab yourself.

Pork ribs, Korean pork belly, beef heart, pork skin, and gopchang. Feel free to help yourself at the self-bar — just take only what you'll actually finish, since there's an environmental fee of ₩3,000 per person to keep in mind!

Note: pork ribs all-you-can-eat guests can have pork ribs, heart & gizzard, and pork skin (no pork belly or gopchang).

Hot food options included tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), fried shrimp, croquettes, seaweed soup, and chicken. The tteokbokki had a strong peppery kick and was nicely spicy — great to eat before the meat! The seaweed soup seemed good for feeding kids too.

At an all-you-can-eat BBQ place, the meat matters, but so does the variety of side dishes to pair with it. When I visited, there was shredded green onion, sliced onion, pickled sesame leaves, plus assorted vegetables, banchan (side dishes), and sauces. Since you help yourself, it's better to take a little at a time and go back for more rather than overloading your plate at once!

![Vegetable and banchan corner at the self-bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-07-ve56g-966.webp)

![Shredded green onion and onion corner at the self-bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-08-1bhko-966.webp)

![Sauce corner at the self-bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-09-ggn27-966.webp)

![Hot food corner at the self-bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-11-rrjck-966.webp)

![Drinks and dessert corner at the self-bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-12-10teh-m-966.webp)

The drinks and dessert corner had coffee, juice, soda, snow-flake red bean bingsu (shaved ice dessert), and ice cream.

### What do you do when a self-bar tray runs empty?

Quick question — do you know what to do if something's empty at the Gankeun Galbi Seongseo self-bar?

![Kiosk screen for requesting a self-bar refill](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-13-1r7zv-966.webp)

Just scan the kiosk or the barcode sticker on the table to request a refill or restock. Click, then hit the staff-call button, and they'll take care of it right away. I found this out late — by the time I noticed the pork belly had disappeared while I was eating the imperial beef short rib, I asked a staff member directly, and they refilled it kindly and quickly.

While exploring the self-bar, I also spotted instant noodles — Jin Ramyeon and Chapagetti, two kinds. Honestly, ramyeon (instant noodles) wasn't part of the plan at all at first! Really! You'll see the ramyeon moment at the very end — we had it instead of the red bean bingsu for dessert!

## Staff bring the imperial beef short rib to your table

![Plate of imperial beef short rib brought out by staff](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-14-ydeqo-966.webp)

What I was most curious about with this menu was definitely the imperial beef short rib. I've seen plenty of pork rib all-you-can-eat places, but a combo that includes beef short rib too? I had to try that.

The imperial beef short rib is brought out separately by staff. Everything else you grab freely at the self-bar, but for this one you have to ask and they'll bring it to your table. And wow, they gave us a generous portion. With pork belly, gopchang, and pork ribs still waiting in line, I wondered if we'd manage it all, haha. Anyway, let's grill it up!

![Imperial beef short rib on the grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-15-1705a-966.webp)

Onto the grill it goes, cooking up nicely,

![Imperial beef short rib browning nicely](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-16-1aa7g-966.webp)

![A piece of imperial beef short rib dipped in salt](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-17-1andj-966.webp)

And finally, the first bite of perfectly cooked imperial beef short rib! Grilled just lightly, it was so tender. Dipping it in salt to really taste the meat itself was the best way to eat it! Beef short rib done — now onto the Korean pork belly!

## Grilling the Korean pork belly

Just as curious as the beef short rib was the Korean pork belly, which just launched as a new menu — had to try it properly. Onto the grill it went, browning nicely on both sides. The sizzle of pork belly cooking never gets old!

The moment I picked up the scissors to cut it, I could tell — this was going to be good! The pork belly sliced through so smoothly. Taking a bite, the thick cut burst with juice and had a rich, savory flavor — Korean pork belly really is on another level!

One bite wrapped in shredded green onion! Another wrapped in pickled radish! Another with lettuce, garlic, and ssamjang (dipping sauce)! If I hadn't already had the beef short rib, I would've eaten a lot more... a little regret there. But let's move on to the gopchang!

## Makchang (grilled pork intestine) is a must here

After the pork belly, it was gopchang time!

![Gopchang on the grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-18-1mqop-966.webp)

![Gopchang grilled to a nice golden brown](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-19-1qgl6-966.webp)

I made sure to grill the gopchang thoroughly until nicely browned. The thinner pieces were crispy and savory, while the thicker ones had a chewier texture! There's also chili paste and cheongyang chili peppers at the self-bar to pair with it.

## It's called Gankeun Galbi, so the pork ribs are non-negotiable

And having come to Gankeun Galbi, we obviously couldn't skip the pork ribs.

![Seasoned pork ribs on a wire grill](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-20-122n8-966.webp)

The pork ribs went onto a wire grill. Note that pork ribs are grilled on a wire rack, so you'll need to request it via the kiosk! We laid the seasoned pork ribs on the grill and kept flipping them carefully so they wouldn't burn.

![Fully cooked seasoned pork ribs](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-21-1c7a7-966.webp)

Tasting them, they weren't very sweet but nicely salty — good paired with rice, I'd think.

![The last pork rib bone picked clean](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-22-23af1-966.webp)

Finally, we picked up a rib bone to gnaw on too, haha. And truly last of all, the two of us cooked up one pack of ramyeon together. For the record, I only had one bite!

After trying imperial beef short rib, Korean pork belly, gopchang, and pork ribs one by one, the Korean pork belly was by far the best match for my taste. My friend agreed — Korean pork belly, hands down! Since it's all-you-can-eat, there's no need to fight over who gets more pork belly, which is such a nice thing!

## Coming with kids? There's a playroom

![Kids' playroom space inside the restaurant](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-23-1n8dr-966.webp)

Another thing that caught my eye at Gankeun Galbi Seongseo was the kids' playroom. Note: middle school age and up is strictly off-limits. Right inside a Korean BBQ restaurant, there's a dedicated space where kids can play.

Oh, there's even a trampoline! When eating out with kids, the adults still want to keep eating while the kids finish first and get bored. Having a separate playroom means the kids get to play while the parents enjoy a more relaxed meal — really useful for families dining out.

When my nieces and nephews were little, I once went looking for a BBQ place with a playroom, and the one we found was less than an eighth the size of this one — I was pretty surprised — but they still had a blast there. I can only imagine how much fun they'd have here. If you're visiting with kids, be sure to check the playroom's usage rules on site.

![Playroom usage rules and gacha capsule machines](https://img.superchart.com/images/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course/gankeun-galbi-seongseo-four-meat-course-24-ancpq-1200.webp)

Also, watch your wallet — there are all kinds of gacha capsule machines inside the playroom! I remember getting bouncy balls from a gacha machine at another BBQ place with my nieces and nephews, and seeing this playroom made me miss my nieces and nephews in the US so much! Sadly, they're all middle-school age or older now, so they wouldn't even be allowed in. Off-limits! 😂

## Is the ₩28,900 four-meat set worth a second visit?

From imperial beef short rib to Korean pork belly, gopchang, and seasoned pork ribs, the lineup at Gankeun Galbi Seongseo was so varied there wasn't a moment to get bored. Right from the first serving, the imperial beef short rib portion was so generous it really felt like the owner's warm hospitality — we got to grill and eat as much as we wanted.

For my taste, the juicy, savory Korean pork belly was the clear number one, and the nicely grilled gopchang and salty pork ribs rounded things out perfectly! And especially from the moment we walked in and got seated to the moment we paid and left, the staff were so kind that it made the whole meal even more pleasant.

With spacious parking, a private room, and even a kids' playroom, this place is one I'd recommend for family meals or company dinners. Next time, I'll have to bring Podo, the pork-belly lover, back here for real! 😊
