Walking through Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju, after a meal you always end up craving something a little sweet, right? This time I visited Tareudang, famous for mochi packed with whole fruit! Inside the chewy mochi skin there's fruit, soft cream, and red bean, topped with castella powder. After some deliberation, we picked three kinds: peach, kiwi, and pineapple. Personally, I think with this kind of fruit mochi, the fruit needs to be tart so it doesn't get sickly sweet when eaten with the other ingredients. It's easy to hold and eat with one hand, and it can be packed to go, so it's great to eat while sightseeing around Hwangnidang-gil — and being fairly close to Cheomseongdae, it's also a good stop before or after a walk.
