I went to Nahonsha in Hapjeong with my friends 🙂 The name makes you think of 'Alone in Nature,' but this place's specialty is shabu-shabu you can enjoy solo ✨ It's perfect for solo diners who love shabu-shabu — definitely worth stopping by for a meal.

Nahonsha is walkable from Hapjeong Station and sits right on the main road, so it's easy to find haha. The exterior alone makes you think, 'wait, is this really a shabu-shabu place??' — it's that upscale-looking.

Break time ended at 6, so we arrived right on time, and the interior really impressed me. Since this is a place designed for solo shabu-shabu diners, the individual induction stoves are very well set up, and the spacing between tables is generous, so you can enjoy your own solo meal haha.

Of course, there are also tables for groups like us who came together haha. The tables are so wide it feels a bit far for chit-chat (?), but you don't need to worry — dining together in a group is totally fine💕

## What comes with the 14,900-won clear broth shabu-shabu

There was a reason the tables were so wide. We ordered clear broth shabu-shabu and this hearty spread arrived haha. There are many broth options — clear, spicy, miso, mala, tomato, sukiyaki — so you can pick whatever you like. All three of us went with clear!

Once the broth started to boil a bit, they put the vegetables in first to cook them thoroughly (for those who like well-cooked veggies). Since it's a solo pot, you can cook things exactly the way you want without worrying about anyone else! You can even scoop the broth straight with your own spoon 🙂

While the vegetables cooked, we had a drink. With the tables being so wide it's a bit hard to clink glasses (?), but we still can't give up the shabu-soju combo 💕

Once the vegetables were cooked enough, it was time to properly add the meat. Adjusting the heat with the induction stove lets you add it without it boiling over messily><

The meat also comes in a set portion per person, but you'll find some meat left over once you've eaten through the vegetables?! Personally, the vegetables were so delicious. If you feel the portion isn't enough, you can add extra ingredient toppings, so keep that in mind! ⭐️The kiosk is also run individually per person⭐️

I loaded up bok choy with bean sprouts, fried tofu, carrots, mushrooms, and meat to make one big wrap haha. Shabu-shabu really is the kind of magic dish that even people who dislike vegetables can't help but love 🫢

## Chili sauce vs peanut sauce: the dip that changed my mind

Two sauces are provided — the classic chili sauce and peanut sauce haha. I don't like peanuts, so at first I only dipped everything in chili sauce?!

Then I casually tried the peanut sauce once, and ended up eating with only peanut sauce for the rest of the meal... ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ This wasn't the heavy, greasy peanut sauce I knew! It was slightly tangy too, and it matched my taste perfectly 🫢

## Fish balls, a mushroom add-on and kalguksu to finish

The broth, made with kelp, bonito flakes, and chicken stock, is clear yet deep, warming you up from the inside, and the side add-ons like dumplings and fish balls were also really delicious haha. Plus — I thought it was tofu, but it was actually fish ball. It tastes exactly like eating a very soft fish cake!!

My friend, who really loves mushrooms, added mushroom noodles. The staff gave us a generous portion since it was a Friday..💕 Go Nahonsha, go➿🖤

We ate the mushroom noodles together with the kalguksu haha. Vegetables, meat, and kalguksu all included for ₩14,900 per person — isn't that an incredibly generous amount🙌

Unlike most shabu-shabu places these days that require two or more diners, this was my review of Nahonsha, where solo shabu-shabu is possible💕
