Went looking for something spicy near Cheonho Station to have with a drink — landed on Jjuksami!

If you like jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried octopus), this place is worth keeping an eye on. It's not just spicy stir-fried octopus — you actually get to pair it with proper cheese, and the combination was better than I expected.

If you're looking for a Cheonho restaurant serving jjukkumi where you can also have a drink, the menu lineup here is pretty solid.

## How does Jjuksami's spice level choice work if you can't eat spicy food?

One thing about Jjuksami: you can order with adjustable spiciness. When someone who loves spicy food goes with someone who can't handle it, picking a menu can get awkward — but since you can choose the spice level to your taste, it was really convenient.

And as basic side dishes, they bring out steamed egg, corn cheese, and rice crust too 🤩

The octopus keeps a nice chewy texture, and the sauce is spicy enough that you naturally start craving a drink while eating it haha. If you're looking for a Cheonho bar/restaurant, the late hours also seemed like a good match.

## Rich Gold cheese plate: dipping spicy octopus like cheese fondue

And there was one thing here I really wanted to try alongside — the Rich Gold cheese plate.

It comes with mozzarella cheese plus sweet potato mousse, and when you dip the spicy octopus deep into the warm melted cheese, it's basically like enjoying cheese fondue.

![Jjuksami's Rich Gold cheese plate with mozzarella and sweet potato mousse](https://img.superchart.com/images/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami-11-1b319-900.webp)

The cheese softens the spiciness of the octopus sauce, and with the sweetness of the sweet potato mousse added on top, I just kept dipping into it. Being able to properly pair cheese like this is what sets Jjuksami apart among Cheonho jjukkumi spots.

Especially if you're weak to spicy food, I really recommend ordering the Rich Gold cheese plate together!!

Take a bite of the spicy octopus, then another bite loaded with cheese — it's the perfect combo with a shot of soju or a beer, and I get why everyone comes to the Cheonho octopus alley for a first round of drinks haha. It was also great for sharing in the middle of the table with a group.

## Fried rice and the free glass noodle sari at Jjuksami

After enjoying the octopus as a drinking snack, you can later fry rice in the leftover sauce and turn it into a full meal — isn't this basically the best value side dish?

![Jjuksami's fried rice finishing dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami-15-10r2c-900.webp)

Both the meal and the drinking snack, completely sorted!

Another thing I liked: pasta or glass noodles are offered as a free service! (I'm totally on team glass noodles ㅠㅠ)

It's not just the main dish and done — you can add noodles into the sauce too, so it definitely felt more filling. (And since it's free, even happier about it.) The octopus sauce is so tasty that once it soaks into the noodles, it becomes a whole different treat. Coming here after searching for Cheonho jjukkumi restaurants and getting this kind of extra service on top just makes you feel good haha.

## Why Jjuksami works for a first round of drinks in Cheonho

Octopus itself pairs so well as a drinking snack that it's also great to visit in the evening.

Thanks to the spicy sauce, one bite makes you crave a drink,

and dipping into the special mayo sauce or cheese in between tones down the spiciness a bit, so you don't get tired of it.

![Octopus dipped in the special mayo sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami-20-w4vdy-900.webp)

So it's good to come for a proper meal, but it also feels well suited for picking as a filling first stop when you're looking for a Cheonho bar/restaurant.

![A filling first-round spread of octopus at Jjuksami](https://img.superchart.com/images/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami-22-5pyhp-900.webp)

Personally, ordering the Rich Gold cheese plate alongside the octopus was way more memorable than just eating the octopus plain. It's also a menu I hadn't seen at any other octopus place in the Cheonho Station octopus alley.

![Rich Gold cheese plate paired with octopus](https://img.superchart.com/images/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami-23-sbw8f-900.webp)

Scoop up the stretchy mozzarella cheese together with the sweet potato mousse, top it with the octopus, and you get spicy, savory, and sweet all at once — I just kept inhaling the octopus hahaha. If you're looking to enjoy Cheonho jjukkumi in a slightly different way, I strongly recommend visiting Jjuksami haha.

![A piece of octopus topped with cheese and sweet potato mousse](https://img.superchart.com/images/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami/chunho-jjukumi-spice-level-noodle-jjuksami-24-1en61-900.webp)

You can adjust the spice level to your taste, and with the free pasta or glass noodle service on top, Jjuksami was a good place to eat a filling meal.

Add the Rich Gold cheese plate on top and you get to enjoy spicy octopus almost like cheese fondue — it really targets the taste of anyone who loves spicy food and cheese. Good for a Cheonho bar/restaurant when you want something spicy instead of the usual grilled meat place, and also a great pick if you're searching for Cheonho jjukkumi. If you're looking for somewhere near Cheonho Station to grab dinner and drinks with friends, definitely put this on your Cheonho bar/restaurant list!!
