## In short

Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is a European-style Chinese restaurant on the Dalmaji-gil hill in Haeundae, Busan. On a weekday half-day off, before meeting a friend, lunch here was three dishes — jalapeño cream shrimp (22,000 won), eoyanggaji (stir-fried eggplant, 22,000 won) and whole garlic yuringi (26,000 won) — served with pickled radish, jjasai (pickled mustard stem) and jasmine tea. The one thing to remember at Bueokgan is the floor: the Chinese restaurant is on the 1st, the group's European restaurant on the 2nd.

I came to Busan today to visit a friend's housewarming (took a half-day off work, feeling great about it). Before meeting my friend, I stopped by for Chinese food for lunch! I'd heard there was a Chinese restaurant with a European vibe, so I came to check it out.

## Where is Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, and is there parking?

Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch sits on the hill of Haeundae's Dalmaji-gil. There are 2 parking spots beside the restaurant. My navigation directed me around the back of the building, and I was going 'where is it, where is it' before finding the lot, haha. Look for a building that looks like this and you'll be in the right place, ha-ha.

## Chinese restaurant on the 1st floor, European restaurant on the 2nd

Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch's Chinese restaurant is on the 1st floor! The 2nd floor is a European restaurant — must be under the same Bueokgan brand family. I went up to the 2nd floor, sat at a table, looked at the menu, and went 'wait, this isn't it' and had to come back down, lol lol. The Chinese restaurant is on the 1st floor, everyone!

## Bueokgan's seating and menu prices

There's quite a lot of seating inside Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch! With 2- and 4-person tables, there were even solo diners eating alone. It also seems like a good spot for group gatherings.

The basic side dishes were pickled radish, pickled cucumber (jjacha), and jasmine tea. I kept wondering 'what's that scent, what's that scent' — turned out to be the jasmine tea, haha.

## Jalapeño cream shrimp, 22,000 won

Jalapeño cream shrimp (₩22,000) comes with jalapeños on top of cream shrimp! Lettuce, cream shrimp, jalapeños, and shaved coconut chips on top. The combination of creamy shrimp with spicy jalapeño was really good.

## Eoyanggaji stir-fried eggplant, 22,000 won

Eoyanggaji (₩22,000) is fried eggplant drizzled with a spicy-sweet sauce! Raw shredded onion is added on top to cut the richness. It's also topped with green onion.

![A plate of whole garlic yuringi](https://img.superchart.com/images/buukgan-chinese-haeundae-lunch-three-dishes/buukgan-chinese-haeundae-lunch-three-dishes-14-7loo1-900.webp)

## Whole garlic yuringi, 26,000 won

Whole garlic yuringi (₩26,000) is yuringi topped with whole garlic, red chili, and green chili. The yuringi is made with chicken thigh meat. The tangy yuringi sauce plus the whole garlic made it less rich.

Haha my friend held it up so I could photograph the cross-section of the shrimp. I also snapped a cross-section of the fried eggplant.

This is the cross-section of the yuringi. Since it's chicken thigh meat, it wasn't dry at all.

We ordered a bowl of rice but were too full to even touch it, ha.
