## In short

Suwolgyeonghwa is an ocean-view tea café on the 3rd and 4th floors of a building on Songjeong Jungang-ro 6-beon-gil in Haeundae, Busan, decorated with traditional Korean interiors. At the counter you can smell the loose tea leaves before ordering, and the writer picked Jeju Breeze (8,500 won); of the five desserts in the Dalbodeurae box (13,000 won), the makgeolli-fermented black rice sulbbang (steamed rice cake) was the best. Every seat, including the floor-seating tables on the 3rd floor, faces the sea, making Suwolgyeonghwa worth one stop on a Busan trip.

Today I came to a gorgeous ocean-view café in Songjeong, Busan. Ocean view plus a space packed with Korean sensibility — I left super, super satisfied haha.

> Suwolgyeonghwa

## Where is Suwolgyeonghwa and where do you park?

Suwolgyeonghwa sits on the 3rd and 4th floors of a building in Songjeong, Busan. I had to crane my neck all the way up just to see the sign haha.

![Exterior and sign of the building housing Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert-02-dndxm-900.webp)

There's a parking lot 🚗 right under the building, which is great!

✅ It's double parking, so keep your phone on ring mode at all times ^^,, when I left, the owner of the car in front wasn't answering their phone so I had to go find them myself... lol ㅠㅠ

![Entrance to Suwolgyeonghwa café](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert-03-1tig4-900.webp)

You can tell they cared about the entrance! The 3rd and 4th floors are the café. Order on the 4th floor, then sit wherever you like~! I took photos of both floors inside so let me show you slowly.

![Blue Ribbon sign at Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert-04-yepzf-900.webp)

Whoa, a Blue Ribbon pick sign once I got here! Makes me happy just seeing it~~

![Ocean view of Songjeong seen from the 4th floor of Suwolgyeonghwa](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert-05-1oqve-900.webp)

The ocean view 💙 right as you walk in — so pretty I gasped ㅠㅠ It had been a while since I'd seen the sea so it felt even better, and the weather was amazing too, so I was really happy 🩵

🐷 I ordered the Dalbodeurae box (₩13,000), Jeju Breeze (₩8,500), and American Gabe (₩6,500)!! They wrote the Americano as '미국식가베' (American-style gabe) — lol.

### Smelling the tea leaves before you order

There are so many kinds of tea, but they set up a spot right by the counter to sniff the tea leaves before ordering, which I loved!! Jeju Breeze had this fresh, tangy scent of hallabong, tangerine, chamomile and lemon, so I picked it right away haha.

They sell tea right next to the counter on the 4th floor! It's like a magic ocean view — pretty even if you snap a photo without trying,,

## Interiors full of traditional Korean pieces

There's a moon jar, a gayageum (Korean zither), meju (fermented soybean blocks), traditional hanji paper, and lots of other Korean pieces — the whole café interior has a strong Korean feel. Since it's a Korean-style ocean-view café selling Korean desserts, there were a lot of foreign guests.

My order arrived! Eating pretty desserts while looking at a pretty view — I was so, so happy 😖

## Which of the 5 Dalbodeurae box desserts was best?

The American Gabe (Americano) was clean with no acidity! The Dalbodeurae dessert box comes with 5 items.

- Gamtae myeongran financier (sea mustard and pollack roe)
- Whole red bean anbutter monaka
- Ganache monaka
- Black rice sulbbang (fermented rice cake)
- Injeolmi skewer

![The five desserts of the Dalbodeurae box](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert-16-6kp0b-900.webp)

![Monaka and sulbbang in the Dalbodeurae box](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert-17-sh39t-900.webp)

### Ganache monaka

Maybe because it's made with French chocolate, it felt chewier and tastier somehow,,haha. Sweet white chocolate inside the monaka wafer. I don't usually get to eat white chocolate so it was a nice experience.

### Gamtae (sea algae) and myeongran financier

I like financiers with a crisp exterior, so this moist version was a little disappointing for me. But the combo of sea mustard and pollack roe was refreshing!

### Whole red bean and butter monaka

Whole red bean paste + French gourmet butter inside the monaka, plus a tiny mochi piece too! It's exactly the anbutter flavor you'd expect. Sweet bean paste + butter combo — can't go wrong.

### Black rice sulbbang — the favorite

Black rice sulbbang made with makgeolli fermentation! This was my favorite by far hahaha. Soft, and the red bean inside balanced really well. Not too sweet, which I loved. The kind of flavor older folks would love!

### Injeolmi (rice cake) skewer

Mochi rice cake coated in soybean powder, topped with honey and brown rice tuile. The brown rice gave it a fun crunch. My second pick! Definitely a grandma-taste palate on my part 👵🏻

![Steeped tea leaves placed atop the teapot](https://img.superchart.com/images/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert/songjeong-ocean-view-cafe-suwolgyeonghwa-tea-dessert-19-4ybns-900.webp)

## What does Jeju Breeze tea taste like?

Jeju Breeze had this fresh, tangy scent of hallabong, tangerine, chamomile and lemon, and it left a refreshing feeling in my mouth, which I loved. They gave me the steeped tea leaves on top of the teapot so I could enjoy the scent even more. Love a tangy scent~~!

## Floor-seating tables on the 3rd floor

After happily munching through the desserts, I went down to the 3rd floor~! There are floor-seating tables there too, so you can take off your shoes and sit comfortably while enjoying coffee or tea! The 3rd floor also had an ocean view and was so pretty ㅠㅠ

## Is Suwolgyeonghwa worth a visit?

- A gorgeous ocean-view café located in Songjeong, Busan
- Ocean-view seating on both the 3rd and 4th floors
- Korean-style interior with Korean-style desserts on the menu
- Lots of Korean desserts like rice cakes, breads, and monaka for a distinctive experience
- Wide variety of teas, so it's great to bring your parents along too
- The ocean view alone is worth it..
- The lighting is amazing too, so every photo turns out pretty

If you're in Busan, I'd definitely recommend stopping by at least once.
