On a Friday after work, I had the most delicious meal at Bareun Hwangso Gopchang (바른황소곱창) 🍻 The staff were so kind, and everything from the sides to the gopchang to the fried rice was really good.

If you go to Bareun Hwangso Gopchang around 5:30pm on a weekday, there's plenty of seating, but by around 6:30pm it's completely full. We got there around 5:30pm and were the first customers.

We arrived around 5:30pm on a weekday and ended up being the very first customers! Must be because it's before everyone gets off work.

** By around 6:30pm it was completely full.

A gopchang spot everyone raves about in Sadang . . ! There's always a reason famous places are famous.

They also do buldak (spicy fire chicken) tongtong noodles, which go so well with gopchang, and it's only ₩4,000 — plus they have draft beer!!!!! I've never seen draft beer at a gopchang restaurant before. There's really no reason not to go.

The assorted gopchang at Bareun Hwangso Gopchang comes fully cooked, so you can eat it right away. The heart gets tough if you grill it too long, so it's best to eat that first.

We ordered assorted gopchang for two. It comes fully cooked so you can dig in right away. The heart gets chewy if it sits on the grill too long, so eat that first and then enjoy the rest haha. Looking at these photos makes me want to eat it again — it was so good... 🥹

When we ordered the gopchang, warm fish cake soup and seasoned chives came out with it 🤤 The fish cake soup is a free service item. @.@

The staff mixed together the rice cake, chives, mushrooms, and onions that came along with it — vegetables soaked in oil. You know how good that is! It was amazing paired with the gopchang and makchang.

They said all the vegetables and extras that come with the meal aren't counted in the 250g — only the gopchang and makchang make up the 250g. That's so generous, right? Domestic hanwoo beef and a generous portion too.

Of everything, I really loved the daechang (large intestine) — it was so big and hearty it took up the whole spoon 🍖 If you love daechang, I think you could order just that and have zero regrets.

The kkakdugi fried rice at Bareun Hwangso Gopchang is ₩4,000 and comes fully prepared from the kitchen. They give you a whole tub of mayonnaise so you can add as much as you like.

We ordered one extra portion of kkakdugi fried rice. It took a little while to come out since the place got full right after we arrived, but it comes fully made from the kitchen, so all you have to do is eat! Really easy to just sit back and enjoy.

They give you a whole tub of mayonnaise so you can add as much as you like, lol. What a nice touch. I love mayo and wanted to squeeze it on everywhere, but my companion likes things more moderate, so I held back.

The staff at Bareun Hwangso Gopchang were really kind, and I felt no discomfort the whole meal. It's not a franchise but an independently run gopchang restaurant, which made me even more excited going in. A lot of people seem to use it as a meeting spot in Sadang too — the food is clean and the atmosphere is great, so I'd recommend it for dinners and group gatherings 💭💭
